Well, I looked that up and I have a question.

Hilton Honors Member Benefits

"Member Tier Benefits · Guaranteed Hilton Honors Discount rate · Points toward free nights, travel partners and more · No resort fees on reward stays · Digital Check ..."

Now, what I would like to know is, what is a "travel partner" and do they supply one? - :confused0068:

Seems essential.

Always in my car, in no particular order of importance:

Leatherman Raptor Shears (soon to be mounted in the door pocket so I can find them upside down)
Tire gauge
Bottled water
Caffeine mints
Invisible glass
Blue paper shop towels
Reading glasses
OBDII bluetooth adapter
Travel trash can (uses standard plastic grocery bags)
Insulated cooler bag (I never know when I'll need to buy boudin.)
Canvas pencil case (for receipts)
Northern Tool back scratcher
Lip balm
Capsaicin nose spray
Hand sanitizer
Alka Seltzer
Ryobi inflator
Ryobi automotive battery charger
Kobalt tool kit
Harbor Freight breaker bar
Spark plug socket (fits the keys to my spline drive lugs)
Trunk cargo net
Jumper cables

My next addition will likely be an Element fire extinguisher. I keep first aid supplies in my computer bag.

If you can't tell, I drive a lot, and I'm fucking serious about it.

I can just picture you making good use of that "Northern Tool back scratcher" in the BRZ on your commute.

Nah, you have to bring your own.

The thread title did say "essentials."

This thread got me thinking, I bought another sc belt to have a spare in the trunk.

extrashaky 07-23-2021 03:59 AM

Back in the day when I drove British sports cars, we always kept spare belts, plugs, points, a carburetor balancer, a jug of coolant and at least a quart of oil in the trunk, along with a full tool kit (with a hammer for the starter). Whenever I would replace hoses or plug wires, I'd toss the take-offs in the trunk as well as spares. You never knew when something would fail.

It's nice not to have to do that with modern cars.

NWFRS 07-24-2021 01:29 AM

Altoids. Microfiber beanie.

dodj 08-11-2021 11:10 AM

Coffee and a mask.

dpfarr 08-11-2021 01:15 PM

There was a point when I had my car mask, spouses car mask, desk mask, etc and had thought that was over in June. Alas...

PS-my center console has dried coffee marks.

LSK 08-12-2021 11:16 AM

each car gets its own ice scraper (seasonal but usually with the XJ and truck they stay in there cause fuck it)

small amount of tools + zipties

USB charger + cables

sunglasses

BRZ has an ipod that lives in it full time now.

Other than that I have a backpack with some tools, first aid, USB drives, passport, etc. that's basically a "go bag" I have on me pretty much all the time, easier than having multiples for 6 cars and 4 motorcycles.

Compelica 08-13-2021 06:57 AM

What I carry:

Pen
USB cables
Jumper cables
Swiss knife
Compact screwdriver set
Tissues / wet wipes
Sunglasses
Collapsible storage box
Old newspapers (when I bring something in wet)
Plastic bags
Car seat and steering cloth, and old sock for shifter (in case someone gets dirty or I send the car to the shop)
Silicone mats (Storage box or heavy items sit on it so they don't shift around)
Spare masks and liquid hand sanitizer
A small bottle of ONR for cleaning bird poo on the go

I got a beer bottle coozy from a local brewery that fits over the shift knob perfectly (upside down). I've got a Perrin shift knob and that chunk of billet can get pretty hot in the summer or pretty cold in the winter! :bellyroll:

That is a good idea. My IRP gets stupid hot sitting in the sun. I think I even have a nameless performance beer coozy in my stuff.
