All I had to do was remove the main pipe from the throttle body to the intake box. The rest I could easily move to the side :)

As it should! ;) Did you need to remove the intake or did you have room to work ? Looks like there's room as we have the same setup. I need to install my pully

Remember to put your car in 6th and really crank up that Ebrake, other wise you will just roll the car back (as I did the first timem, when I did not have the ebraked pulled enough)

Yeah I remember reading that in the DIY section. How are yopu finding the pully after install vs stock ?

I would agree with everyone that it certainly feels a bit more lively from 1-4k RPM. Also it drops revs a little quicker when down low. but I seem to have adopted to it quite well. The idle "bog" which people have reported (and I have a little of, on occasion) seems a little more obvious with this pulley. but I just blip the throttle if it is really annoying me and not going away on its own, which it usually does within a couple seconds of happening.:iono:

SkAsphalt 10-05-2012 03:50 PM

I got my exhaust!! Installing it today or maybe tomorrow. Damn, am I excited. Looks beautiful too!

See post 2 for photos!

Completed my headlight retro fit tonight! Woo. Pictures coming soon (I'm on an iPad. Hard to do easily.)

I will get one up in a moment here.

I did get my lights from a member, I think I even linked to the sales thread or the member's user profile in my updated first page.

For a quick review - Interior and trunk lights are awesome (interior is really bright if you are short and actually SEE the leds. I don't cause I am too tall haha)

Reverse lights are actually pretty garbage, it is not the fault of the bulb, but of how the bulb fits into the reverse lights. I would not suggest single bulb CREEs but something that sends out light in all directions as the reverse housing is reflective and the bulbs point up into the housing, not straight out (where the CREEs would work best)

They are 6000k. So a little on the blue tint, which I love.

raul 11-19-2012 06:44 PM

Ok, I'll probably be shooting for 5000k then since I like pure white. Thanks!

Yep if you want pure white, you want to get 4300k or 5000 (4300k is the OEM spectrum for almost all brands) :happy0180:

Wes 11-20-2012 02:04 AM

I'm glad to see you painted your tails red, been waiting to see a pic of how it looks on an asphalt to see whether I should do that to mine.

SkAsphalt 12-11-2012 11:23 AM

Got my Beat-Sonic shark-fin antenna! Whoop

Don't you just love our SK winters :eyebulge:

Got my shark fin also, they look great!

SkAsphalt 12-19-2012 05:09 PM

Mmm looks like I need to host my photos someplace other than dropbox (which just makes sense) so I will move everything over to flicker tonight and try to add some more shots of what I have added for mods.

SkAsphalt 12-31-2012 04:50 PM

Ordered myself a Carsmo arm rest, clear JDM side markers, bright white LEDs to go inside of them and some Toyota badges. Whoop!!

Also ordered the GT86 fog lamp bezels. This will be a long term project where I build up my own fog light kit for HOPEFULLY less than $120 total.

SkAsphalt 01-15-2013 10:53 AM

I do not know why I said $120 total for the cost of my fog lights lol. but here are my costs so far:

Subaru Forrester fog lights, parts number 84501AJ00A $102 shipped
GT86 JDM bezels - $75 shipped
So right now we are looking at 177 Canadian looniess before any unknown shipping costs or duties kick me in the butt.

I just need to get bulbs (which I probably have in my garage already or will buy for super cheap) and a wiring harness. I expect to be out another 20-30 bucks MAX before this project is done. 200 < 600 dollars that's for sure!

I promise I will once it is done.

There is one already kind of available here, but it is for the BRZ

SkAsphalt 01-16-2013 11:19 AM

These certainly look interesting

Yes these look like a nice alternative for sure. Looked at GC coilovers before I bought my Fortune 510's. Couldn't work out shipping details with those guys. But their products look great! Shipping may kill the deal for you.

btw don't let your GF know what your up to

SkAsphalt 01-23-2013 03:30 PM

This post will be in for one heck of a build update once spring comes around!

Carsmo arm rest
Grimspeed hood dampers
JDM Fog Light bezels
Subaru Forrester Fog Lights
Beat Sonic Sharkfin Antenna
JDM Clear side markers
white LEDs for side markers

Oooh wee I can't wait! I may even pick up some springs before the winter is over.

SkAsphalt 03-28-2013 08:41 PM

Sad, sad day. Condensation in my passenger tail light :( Warranty still covered a painted tail light? I will find out!

SkAsphalt 04-01-2013 01:58 PM

Sorry everyone. I will have to use a real photo hosting site soon I guess

Need to fix this post and all of my missing images

Finally lowered on Eibach Pro-Street springs. This was taken the day after so the springs have not fully settled. I am happy with it!

Not visible is my new rear diffuser. Hard to see in this picture.

EditSome photos to add. My fog lights and rear diffuser. All iPhone shots. Deal with it ;)

What's your overall drop on those springs ?

Supposed to be 1" all around, but I feel like it will be a little less than that. Some people have seen 7/8ths of an inch, others have seen more up front, a tad less in the back, etc.

So I guess there is roughly a 12% margin of error on either side of 1"

I am happy with how it works, tho it does make the offset of the factory rims more apparent (their sunken in look)

I plan on getting new rims down the road, so that will handle that :) :w00t:

Any cambering after you dropped your car?

Get an alignment done yet? Lovely car :)

I have not done an alignment yet. Everything is pretty square so I am happy with it. I will bring it in soon ish though just to make sure.

Very little cambering from dropping the car 1 inch. I guess when I get an allignment I will learn more. As our car does not have adjustable bolts, not much can be done without me upgrading to crash bolts or something.

Thanks for the compliment!

In other upgrade news I installed a K&N air filter last night. I have no idea why people say it is hard to install :bs: I had the stock filter out and the new K&N replaced within 3 minutes. Honest - super easy install. And car runs great (as always) with added induction sound.

I REALLY hear it around 4,000rpm but that has something to do with Visconti's tune.

  • new LEDs for my reverse lights (my cree ones are not meant for the reverse light housing)
  • JDM Toyota Badges
  • Rexspeed convex side mirrors
  • JPM Coach Works Alcantara MT shift boot
