It's a great car, do it.

It probably won't feel like it at first, but it's a buyer's market for these cars. Take your time, avoid cars with "stories." Definitely finance through a local credit Union. Check underneath for rust.

Good luck!

Uh...a buyers market? For now maybe in the next 3-6 months

With interest rates on the cusp of rising and an auto tariff coming. It's best to buy new now if you're going to before that all hits harder...

The twins specifically have shown average at best resale value, as indicated by dozens of "what's my car worth" threads on here. I'll leave it to the economists amoung us to debate if global factors can alter that. Otherwise, these cars are readily available, have niche appeal, and are only just reaching the end of their steep depreciation.

Wow thanks for the spreadsheet, i'll definitely be using this. Oh and question, what is your guys opinion of buying a car online from a dealership? Especially if the dealership is states away from you?

I really can't recommend this. With used cars you want to inspect and test drive before buying.

Banks use NADA value to finance cars, NOT KBB! So make sure the car is a good deal using NADA values. Interest rates have gone up a bit, so your local credit union will have the best rates on car loans. Get as close to, or below, NADA trade in value, if you can. That will be a good deal. I have had no problems with my 2013 or my 2016. Good luck.

Thanks for letting me know about NADA! I almost paid too much, as I see NADA values are less than kbb. Using it, I offered NADA retail value on a 2015 WRB BRZ Ltd. 6MT this week and it was accepted. The way the twins have been quickly selling around me for clean examples, I am pretty sure they would not accept the trade-in value as my bid. I think I got a decent deal and the car appears to be mint, with only 22k miles. I will pick it up tomorrow!

Thanks! Here’s a picture taken at the dealership right after the test drive. It’s stock except for window tint!

Been looking around and seeing many for up to 15k to 19k with, on average, 50k miles on the odometer. Ive never bought or financed a car before and I dont have any prior experience with it and I was wondering if any on here could share their experiences and share any tips when buying a used FR-S

Service records.
Put up on hoist check under car for damage, skid marks on metal shield plate, oil leaks, exhaust leaks.
Pad wear rotor scouring.
Tyre wear
Wheel damage
Check online using vin number toyota service history.
Accident history.
Etc
Common sense
Buyer beware

Warranty?

That should be 1.0.

Here is a crude overview:

Or did you mean a 10 series?
Came with a bunch of stuff the others didn't have then.
