I'm just be glad there's a 2018 model year and we don't have the color palette of just Black white Red and grey.

10 Series: 2000 TOTAL (North America) .HyperBlue: 500 for USA, 100 for Canada, 50 for Australia = 650 TOTAL .Yellow: 500 for USA, Unknown # for Canada = 500+ TOTAL RS 2.0: 850 for USA, 150 for Canada = 1000 TOTAL So far Series.Yellow is the "unicorn color" between the twins since we don't know Canada's number (it's most likely less than 100). The rare colors are cool but I don't know how I'll feel about them when these cars age. The Miata (NA,NB especially) was also a car that has a bunch of special edition colors but when I see those particular Miatas I see them as "just another clean Miata." Honestly I'm more wowed by a special edition color when the car is significantly modified and that's coming from someone who keeps their HyperBlue stock (I'd keep any BRZ pretty muchstock btw regardless of edition.) |

That's an Evo8 right? I thought you had a regular trim Lancer? Quote:

Don't forget Japan got their yellow more early too. Both the RS1.0 yellow and series yellow yellow.

I have ALWAYS wanted a yellow Twin. Lovely. Sad I missed the original TRD release edition.

Having the lower portion of the bumper painted black makes the MY17 86 front look 100% better too.

Anybody konows what is the brand/model/spec of wheels on that car? Looks kinda hefty and racy to me. |

These cars are racing in the TMG GT86 cup, so probably standardized wheels (guessing) which would mean these OZ racing wheels. |

Well, thanks. |
Any other official information for the 2018s? I'm seeing 6 different model codes, so it looks like we will be getting trims at least. If it mirrors Subaru, that would mean performance package, too.

Saw the same thing. 6 trim models (3 trims across 2 transmissions). Hot lava is gone. Thunder is pretty official. |

Yellow is now very popular among men, according to this research. "The company analyzed more than 700,000 consumer car inquiries on iSeeCars.com and close to 30 million car sales to identify car color preferences by gender. Although previous data showed men have a stronger preference than women for brighter car colors, men’s preference for yellow cars increased 63.8 percent and their preference for orange cars increased 41.7 percent since last year." Of course, preference for orange* did increase. I attribute the growth of yellow to the Mustang and Camaro. * It just occured to me that Solar Orange is Orange, and the 860 has it. So it makes sense that they would do an orange S/E and add yellow. Although, ditching Hot Lava is an interesting choice. Perhaps it has more to do with the type of orange, as Hot Lava is more of a burnt color. https://blog.iseecars.com/wp-content...lors-chart.jpg |

My system traditionally calls out special editions as special editions. These all look like normal trims. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If I was a betting man, I would say no brembo/sachs pacakge but rather base 86 (same as current), GT (add push button start/proximity key/ dual zone), GT Limited (add heated leather seats and rear spoiler). |

So base (what's out now) and Limited (stuff from the BRZ). Wonder what that 3rd could be. Maybe that black package that Japan is getting which is basically the Performance pack with black wheels? Highly unlikely for 2018, but maybe it will be the GR model rebranded as TRD minus some things missing (No recaros) to make it cheaper?

Go dig up a low mileage Oceanic/Ultramarine/GSB the bright blue is on every other WRX with vape stickers all over the windows. I thought part of the charm of the orange was that not everyone has one? Edit: I mean, new 86 in Oceanic is possible... |

The ONLY thing that would make me manage to control my repulsion of the new front end would be if it was in Lava. Blue would not cut it. |

Base GT (Limited trim) $30K TRD - (base trim with PP, skirts all around, unique wheels, and exhaust) $30k So it's basically one or the other and no mix like the BRZ where you must get the Limited for the PP. I would expect the TRD might actually cost closer to $32k. Then you slot the Supra with the 30i motor at 35k-ish and that gives Toyota a spread from entry level buyer to mid level buyer \ conquest buyers that move from the base or TRD and into the Supra later. The GT people can go to Lexus. |

My one regret with my car, that I'm absolutely in love with, is that there was a 2017 WRB BRZ w/ PP at the Subaru I work at, at the same time. It was a really tough mental battle whether I wanted to sacrifice appearance (I personally think the BRZ looks childish compared to the mildly aggressive FR-S and more so aggressive 86), or sacrifice "race mode" by skipping that PP and getting the 86 which in my opinion, is a better color (Lapis Blue/Oceanic vs. WRB), turn-key, which I like, and cloth seats, which I also don't mind, also won't miss those oddly placed seat heater buttons as well as the push button start, both taking up spaces I take for granted in my 86. If I can somehow get the PP goodies on an 86 without the push-button and heated seats, I would do it in a heartbeat. |
