I changed my oil at 1000 and noticed that too. After the change my car is much quieter at 3-5k RPM. Seems to sound the same 5k+.

I didn't bother to break mine in. I'm under the impression that is no longer necessary.

'Course, I don't tend to be that hard on the engine anyway. I don't think I've gotten the high rev light to come on more than once or twice in 110,000 miles.

What I'm hard on is tires (cornering).

You should take it up the mountains if you just feel like driving. I drove a lot of my first 1k miles on regular streets but this was my first manual car. First redline is awesome. Really starts to pull at 5k RPM and its very loud.

bought my Frs on may 30 2013 and put about 700 miles on it the first day. I guess it is a fun car to drive lol
