Evo x/end thread. New mistubishis are just as reliable as most other cars. Used ones just happen to be beaten to shit more often than not giving them a bad rep.
|
Since you both wanted a Evo, I say EVO. 4 door and good amount of power and AWD. Rather have one that I wanted then regret not getting it. Also congrats on the addition!

I love the Evo's. Always have. Always will. The biggest thing for me is that I just couldn't justify the price for what it offered. It's a fun car, but no folding rear seats, all plastic interior that never stops rattling, and running 4k RPMs at 75mph on the freeway (in the 5spd GSR) made me opt against it. Plus, the 15MY doesn't even have Recaros anymore:brokenheart: Out of those three options, I'd have to lean towards the SS side, simply because I personally feel like it offers more for the money as an all around car. But, I also agree with what was previously said: Take all three for a good test drive and see how well it would fit with your wants and needs from a new vehicle. Best of luck! |
Don't get the MR. Get the GSR. The manual in the GSR is stronger then the MR.

I do agree on the test drive also, don't do it just once or twice. Drive all 3 as much as you can to get the feel of it after a while. |

After 50 years of marriage (to two different women), I learned that this phrase works best: "Yes, dear, you are absolutely right ...... I'm an ass hole" (in a medium voice, with puppy dog eyes and head slightly lowered) Then, DO NOT walk away ....... because she will feel she is not done with you ..... but, after she realizes what you just said ...... she will stop. humfrz |
The 3 options are in completely different classes. So I'd say u have to decide what your priorities are..
As a father of 2 my suggestion is a car that is higher off the ground, so u save your lower back. We had an 09 civic sedan with my first kid and BOTH of hurt our backs with all of the in/out while twisting. Despite being someheatcfit, we each slipped a lumbar disc. We manage now but for the 2nd kid we got an SUV. So what do you want? Performance Handling Creature comforts (dual zone climate, heated seats, power options etc.) Gas mileage? Somewhere u have to pick and prioritize what you want, that will guide your decision. We ended up going with a loaded Santa fe cause we wanted all the creature comforts, 3rd row for future expansion, awd, decent power and of course lumbar support :-) what I sacrificed was handling and gas mileage. And no street cred lol Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk |

Haha, I do that and it doesn't work yet after being together 10 years (married 6 in april out of the 10)...........Haze Gray and underway is the only way out at that point and my present duty station doesn't permit that. All the same I love her. |

You have a kid on the way, this isn't about you anymore. |
Is the FRS the only car? If so, yeah, you are going to need to get rid of it. If not, change the other car :). I'm the baby carrier with the FRS :). I take her to daycare every morning and pick her up at night. It works great, but their is no room for a passenger with a rear facing seat.

You fucked up son

Well the FRS is her car, I am getting another SRT4. She now wants to trade it in for a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I'm trying convincing her to get the SRT model haha. The dealer I work for has also a Jeep/Chrysler/Dodge, a Toyota/Scion, Nissan, KIA and a Maserati dealership...So it kind of plays in my favor anyways

The time has come : (
I never did update this thread, but I traded her FRS in and got her a 15' VW GLi w/DSG transmission. Since the day we went to see it, she couldn't stop talking about it and how much she loved it. Its a 2 Liter Turbocharged 4-dr. So she ended up getting what she wanted and its fully loaded with everything you could've added to it. First thing she HAD to have done was get the windows tinted.
Before tint was applied: http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...152a73d4fc.jpg After tint: http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...995815c653.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Congrats - glad to hear you're keeping your pregnant wife happy! Also looks like VW updated the styling on the front of the Jetta (single red strip on the bottom) to match the new GTI.

I think you need something safe and reliable. IMO is Subaru WRX or STI ( thats what i would get)
|
I think you made a great choice OP, I do love the newer Volkswagon's :D
Do you ever see yourself in another 86? |
But did you end up with what you wanted? I'd kept the FRS and made some other compromise.
