Powerball winning numbers for 1/9/2016: 32-16-19-57-34 and Powerball 13

zman 01-09-2016 11:37 PM

No one got the numbers so it's going to be 1.3 billion now. Probably will go up more until Wednesday

Gonna have to buy a ticket while I'm here in USA on holiday. Be nice to take a billion $US home with me! I'll even happily pay the foreign withholding tax that will be deducted.

Not to be the wet blanket here but you'd probably have to go way out into the boonies of the Central Valley to have any luck building a racetrack in this day and age... with even historic places like Laguna Seca feeling the squeeze... this guy in NY who built his own private track, had to fight legal battles for 7 years against his neighbors before he could finally complete it:

Round 2 of buying tickets tomorrow. Should spend 86 worth of tix. Lol

Was just telling the gf the other day I would enter but a crazy amount such a 900mil is insane and I would have no chance at winning. Now, if 900 people could win a million each? I would be ALL OVER THAT. Then I would build the FRS. Or a Supra. Or both. And then save the rest lol

lol Fuck it I would only need 100k to build a supra and frs.

Apparently us canadians can buy a powerball ticket. Imagine if a canadian won...there's gonna be a lot of pissed off americans blaming canada for stealing their money.....as if it's bad enough with mexicans stealing hard labor jobs that americans won't touch...

Food for thought: you think winning 100 million is a lot of money already. 1.3 billion will suddenly make you as rich as Warren Buffet.

If I won. I would keep 100 million and donate the rest. 100 million should be enough to finish off my frs dream build, buy a nice house, travel the world and keep several generations of my family rich through careful investing.

See i agree with this. Why does it need to be so high? Theres NO WAY the average human being can spend 1.2 Billion. If anything donate most of it to a charity of some sort. I'm only asking for 1mil honestly because I could still keep my job, go to school (and pay it off), save some money, and build the car of my dreams.

If I win, I'm running for president. I'm running on the platform that we need to bring back trial by combat.

I'd vote for that.

I honestly couldn't imagine spending $10 million on non-frivolous things over the next 5 decades of my life. Seriously if you dump that into an investment account that yields 2% every year you could withdraw 1% (that'd be $100k before taxes) every year to live off of, and I underestimated the gains on that money, it should easily keep pace with inflation, plus you'd probably buy yourself a house so your monthly housing costs should start seeing a decrease to free up some budget. That lands you within the top 20% of the nation with only a few hours here or there keeping an eye on it, you could live like a king in a less desirable area, even within California.

World travel is the only thing that would put a hole in my theory that I'd only ever want for $10 mil, you start traveling first class and the zeroes get added onto the bill real quick.

With the odds of winning supposedly at 1 in 292.2 million it would seem to be like most of the lottery: taxation for the statistically impaired

Wonder if they'll allow one person to purchase 293 million tickets...
