AC doesn't get to much of a work out up here but we have to combat high humidity most of the summer and it does a great job on that.

Riding with @gramicci101 in Vegas a few weeks back and even though the temp outside was 111 the AC did a fine job of keeping the car cool. He did say that using a windshield sunscreen made a huge difference in how fast the car came down in temperature though.

On a side note: How the hell do you people live in those places?????????

Out here in Las Vegas, and if I drive during the day mine will be working fine at the 2nd or 3rd settings I rarely push it up to max. Could it be better? Probably, but I didn't buy a luxury car so I'm pretty happy with it as is

It's pretty good for me but I hate how it makes a loud CLICK!... CLICK! whenever the compressor clutch grabs. I have never had a car that made such an audible noise.

I have! The Mitsus sounded like they were going to explode every time the compressor kicked in.
Has a lot to do with the light soundproofing we have as well since I hear all sorts of weird and wonderful noises that are in most cars but you just can't tell.

No problems with the A/C, but it helps to have some load on the engine. If you're just idling at a light with a hot car on a 90+ degree day, the A/C will suck.

Its over 100 on average here and I have no complaints about the a/c. I would say its the best a/c I have ever had but this is the first vehicle I have owned that has had a/c.

I do have 3m nano tint and park in a garage so that may help.

Another trick I use is I close all the vents except the 1 closest to driver window and the left middle vent.

Mine cools perfectly. It froze my ass out on Monday when it was 95 outside. Then again I'm the type that can hop in my other car and cruise with the windows down without AC on and not have a huge problem with it.

For those saying it really sucks, have you brought it into the dealer to check it out? It works pretty damn well on my car - especially considering how small the cabin is.

It isn't as good as the AC on really old cars - the 86' Dodge Diplomat my family owned used to spit chunks of ice onto whoever was stuck sitting in the middle. But, do you really want to be pelted by hailstones while you are driving?

works fine on my car when i actually use it

i dont mind the heat! love having the windows open with some sunglasses on!
Bring on the HEAT!

i usually only use it when the girlfriend is in the car so she doesnt complain after a while that her hair is getting messed up

I'm in central Florida, and my AC works great! Even have to switch it off on occasion for a couple of minutes, as I have all the vents directed at my hands on the wheel, and it can start getting to where my hands will hurt from the cold air blowing on them on longish trips. Wife constantly complains (uh, I mean "comments") that my hands are ice cold when I get home from work.....

For being R134a, it works great in my car. That said, I hardly use it.

I second having the car checked out if it doesn't seem to be working good.

I'm in Arizona. The AC works fine. Small cabin in 86 makes cooling easier. I have noticed on full throttle ... the engine pulls power from the AC compressor.

This is what I did New Years weekend, January 3rd:

How much snow did you have that weekend? I'll take a few days over 100 degrees no problem over shoveling snow and being holed up for a couple weeks/months.

Mostly just a frame of reference thing, like I said, my shitty $1,000 pickup has stronger more consistent A/C at anything except highway speeds, there's a fair number of older cheaper cars that are better at keeping the driver cool and affordable new-ish cars that prioritize driver comfort. Yes the A/C in the 86 is adequate, probably a B+ or A- but I'm personally dying for a good 5-10 minutes after work when I hop in my car, guess I should buy a sunshade.

Been here all my life about an hours drive from the Gulf so I'm used to the heat and humidity. Yesterday is was something like 98 with a heat index of 105 or something with humidity.
