Couple more details for you guys, some of which you already have:
-1st - 6th Straight Cut Synchromesh Gearset
-Shift and drive like standard with a mild whine. “Due to the way that we manufacture the outbreaks they’re not terribly noisy due to the accuracy”
-All gears are case carburized heat treated & cryogenically treated & shot peened
-No extra cost for custom ratios, but comes with an 8 weeks lead time
-Non-custom gear ratio is close to stock

It's supposedly a derivative. Case design doesn't really matter too much when it comes to their designations (L, G, W, R series transmissions each have variations that look quite different)

There's also been transmission shops that have torn both of them down and noticed the similarities.

Regardless, the AZ6 we have isn't the same as the other AZ6's out there anyway as it's also heavily modified.

For the longest time the S2000 wasn't on the list of cars:

From what I can tell of manuals, they're VERY different.

But, as you said, the big, important thing is parts interchange. Knowing what does and does not interchange is important.

Who manufactures this?

Gears aren't cheap to make even for the big car companies. Custom sets are gonna be pricey but how many transmissions will you blow through before you hit that price?

Poodles 05-23-2015 04:16 PM

Keep in mind that a V160 new is $7K and that doesn't include the adapters and clutch to get it to work in this car.

If this can hold up to the abuse, it's really not that bad of a price...

Im not sure if theres going to be many motors that will break this or even come close. I wonder if there could be a possibility for a less expensive set. Not a complete replacement, but 1-4.

I guess in the long run this would be worth it but it's still pretty expensive. Glad to see stuff like this being made though, looking forward to seeing how it holds up.

I was so excited... till i saw the price...

Fuck that.... 3-5. :P

You likely wont have anywhere near enough tire to be damaging gears 1-2 on the street. Ask me why I know.

I would be all over it if I hadn't just heaped out money for turbo, custom oil cooling, and gauges... You know, if I hadn't just bought the very thing that's going to destroy my transmission and make me need this set.:burnrubber::cry::mad0260:

Good luck fitting that in the fender wells... Regardless it's not common to be putting heavy power down in the first two gears on a street car... Especially with only 2wd

cdrazic93 05-24-2015 11:26 PM

....radials. That is my response, lol
