It's the only place where they can appear to be superior to the next human being. It's that guy who's Facebook display pic and cover page are his car, and the last 75 pictures are the same car, different angle. The same guy who has an Instagram account with the car in his name, over 90% of the pics are of their car only, or parts acquired, often citing how expensive their part is, etc. etc. It's the same guy who probably does really dangerous street pulls, video tapes public drift sessions, and has never been to a track in their life.

*I'm not painting everyone with the same brush

/rant

Also the same people who probably:
  • Buy car parts on credit
  • Spend tax return money on car parts
  • Car is bought by parents
  • Have no idea of financial responsbility
  • Are generally quite dumb

Maybe going into debt like I did with buying car parts lol. The beauty of working in the oil and gas industry, expecting work to come and then having a super late start to the summer survey season. Ah well, paid off after my next pay. Cest la vie

What's the deal with the whole Oil industry lately? They say companies are struggling in Alberta, yet gas in Ontario is still expensive :bonk:

Not my place to speak on that. I'm not directly related to any company. I'm a contractor.

I went to school with now about 11-15 people all in oil and gas, so maybe I'm a bit jaded haha

Specific to Alberta, the cost of extracting oil is higher than places like Saudi Arabia on a per barrel basis. That is, the amount of profit they can make is less. That's why they are struggling.
