It's just a H11 bulb, nothing different than the tC . Usually it's just with the really cheap or "universal" kits that only come with the standard prong types that require you to do this. Any slightly above average company should send out the proper H11 connectors.

Oh are you saying every good H11 connector is the same for the bulb connector to the factory harness?
Like I'm trying to see if these would work.

Retrofit Source, 3B Specialties all offer "complete" connectors!

Yes, all cars that use H11 bulbs will also be using the same connector. I can't view ebay while at work but typically most of those universal kits are made in the same place. I would personally look for something that offers a warranty because it is common for those kits to have bad components.

This one has 2 year warranty and 7 day return on DOA items. Sounds good to me.

If you are going to with a PnP HID kit, might as well get the kit with the oem connectors. That's how you can tell the lower grade kits from the decent ones.

Right but how can you tell if the kit has the OEM connector or not. There are none out there designed for the FR-S under $100. And I'm sure theres thousands of generics that'll fit but nobody has yet to answer that question. I'm not about to buy one of our vendor's slim versions that basically the same setup as one on eBay but three times the price. As long as everything clicks and works for 4+ years I'm good.

They are all made in China but I know DDM and Slim Cubby have the H11 kits that have the oem connectors.

I have always used DDM Tuning's HID kits. They have a lifetime warranty and cost $50 for a 55w kit. I have had them in my MR2 for almost three years now with zero problems.

Does the 55w ballast consider to create too much heat for the housing projector for this car or should I take 35w to be safer ?

tonystewart 07-23-2012 03:31 PM

The 35W will give you more light than you can use, are you trying to spot caribou at a mile?

Synack 07-23-2012 08:15 PM

Here's my 50w at 5000k.
Everyone says it looks great and stock and looks like the car came this way. Looks better in person.

It does look good. Did you have to point down your projectors? I installed HIDs in mine and they point pretty high. I need a flat place to adjust them...
