See that was my thought process too, about some of the manufactures muffler deletes being "biased" to one exit or another. My Y pipe splits off pretty much dead center of the car, but still can create "bias" in how the exhaust comes out, yet it's not always the same. Like on cold starts, sometimes I'll see the exhaust coming steady out both exits, sometimes it will be heavier out one side or another. Doesn't really make a difference, I guess that just happens because it's not really a "true dual exhaust".

As for the headers, I think the only way I will be able to keep my muffler delete is to get a catted UEL and keep my stock OP/FP. Catless with a straight pipe might make ears bleed. lol

I guess if I decide to go full on uel header, aftermarket op/fp. I can always just get an axleback and ill be at a loss of a lot less money with just the muffler delete being replaced...

is there any confirmed information in regards to the stock midpipe compared to aftermarket midpipes offered on catback systems?

any evidence to the stock midpipe not being that restrictive compared to aftermarket? and not worth the upgrade?

only difference is if the midpipe isn't resonated i imagine? difference in sound and a teeny bit of weight shed off for not having a resonator on it?

I forgot to mention that I also have catless frontpipe and overpipe. But yeah I bought the muffler delete so I can save up for my next setup.

stock header, aftermarket overpipe, catless frontpipe, stock midpipe, berk dual tip muffler delete.

is that your setup? your frontpipe being catless, is it resonated or just a straight front pipe catless?

do you have any videos of your car/sound? that must sound beastly with how your setup is

Yeah that is my setup, and I think the front pipe is just straight. I don't have any videos of my car but I know one of my friend does and I will try to get that from him so I can show you. Where in Illinois are you located?

The stock midpipe is one of the better midpipes I've seen on a Subaru exhaust. Its not that restrictive, but it can be improved on. WORKS offers an upgraded stock midpipe that I'm contemplating (currently running Revworks headers/ Nameless Frontpipe/ Stock Midpipe/ LegSport muffler)

The muffler deletes are more about freeing up the stock system, running them them with headers/etc. makes them even worse. I've gone the opposite route and tried to quiet my exhaust by keeping the stock midpipe and running a VERY quiet muffler, but its still very audible with the headers/frontpipe.

muffler deletes with headers/etc. makes them even worse soundwise? or peformance wise?

Soundwise. A muffler delete with headers/etc. deleting all the mufflers/resonators = straight pipe exhaust.

Also know as the "Neighbors are gonna call the cops" exhaust.

Maybe this thread/muffler would be of interest to you. I have one and will be putting a JDL UEL header on my car once its warm.

i think i am going to go with a muffler delete for starters, low cost, lower weight and better sounding than stock by a lot.

hopefully down the road i will go with a complete headerback system. inculding a uel header. which would mean this muffler delete would have to go or it would be toooo loud
