I prefer to keep it at Scion,
In my opinion company emblems who are not the main company on the car emblem tend to have a better reputation.

For example Acura for Honda
Infiniti for Nissan
Lexus for Toyota

BMW owns: Mini and Rolls Royce.

Fiat owns: Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Dodge, Ferrari, Jeep, Lancia, Maserati, Ram and SRT.

Ford Motor Company owns: Lincoln and a small stake in Mazda.

General Motors owns: Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, and GMC. GM owns a controlling interest in Opel and Vauxhall in Europe and Holden in Australia. (The U.S. Treasury Department is in the process of selling off the remaining GM stock holidngs.)

Honda owns: Acura.

Hyundai owns: Kia.

Tata Motors (India) owns: Jaguar and Land Rover.

Mazda mostly independently owned (Ford has small stake)

Mitsubishi is independently owned.

Daimler AG owns: Mercedes-Benz and Smart.

Nissan owns: Infiniti. (Nissan, in turn, is owned by Renault.)

Saab is owned by National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS).

Subaru: Owned by Fuji Heavy Industries with Toyota a minority partner.

Tesla: Toyota is a minority partner. Partnership with Daimler AG.

Toyota Motor Company owns: Lexus, Scion, Daihatsu and Hino Motors, with a stake in Fuji Industries (Subaru's parent company) and Isuzu.

Volkswagen owns: Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, and overseas-brands SEAT and Skoda.WELL NOT IN MOST CASES

Volvo is owned by Chinese-automaker Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, aka Geely.

EDIT: Sorry, just realized I should've left an option to see about how many do/don't rebadge.

my last toyota didnt have a badge.....1990 celica gts..... so my scion looks good just as it is. it is what it is

(Please do not read with an angry tone in your head but as some simple questions)
We aren't allowed to have opposing view points?
We should all smile and nod even if we don't like something?
Should all the threads consist of "I did XXX to my car" followed by 200 replies of "good work"?

I agree with Tron on this completely. There is a stigma attached to Scion in some areas (for right or wrong reasons) and some people just like to fool themselves.
As I have said a dozen times before in the "Badge Change" threads. You are not fooling anybody by changing to Toyota badges. The people who know the cars already know what it is and the people who don't just don't care.
Having said all that I personally could care less what badges are on any car and you can badge them as a Porsche or a Ugo if it makes you feel better about yourself.

Well done Squady! You beat me to it (and I was only going to ask if all Challengers and Chargers are getting rebadged as Fiats).

I have to ask though. Is this step 3 in you psychology paper?

BlackMonarch 02-26-2015 08:24 AM

When I started tearing in to the car, and everything said "Subaru" down to the monograms on the VIN sticker, I decided the car definitely wasn't a Scion. Maybe a Toyota, but not a Scion.

Also, the Scion brand name has never meant anything to me, other than tacky cheapo F&F wannabe cars. So now it's a Subaru.

axelo 02-26-2015 08:24 AM

Scion is the young sporty son of toyota jajajaja...

The part about Mitsubishi is interesting here because; much like FHI which has Subaru as the automotive division, both companies produce a huge variety of...well, things. For example, I have a Mitsubishi A\C unit and television, and an FHI forklift at work.

As a Turtle that swims over seas quite often they don't know what a fr-s is :D

My parents said the same thing, so I bought a BRZ instead

They pronounce it "ski-on", as in you "ski on" the hill...

Tcoat 02-26-2015 09:31 AM

Why are the Subaru guys not rebadging to this?

And their products didn't have the greatest first introduction to the U.S. of any company in history!

I'm thinking of gong with Toyota emblems, Subaru wheel caps and leave the FRS badge on the trunk. That way I cover all 3. Lol

So you think Scion has a better reputation than Toyota? First time I've ever heard that in my life...

I got the BRZ just so that I wouldn't have to own a Scion. No offense intended to FRS owners, I've just never liked the Scion brand and never felt they had a good reputation.
