Cool thread.

Having only known these cars in Gran Turismo games...

Vauxhaul vx220 and Opel Speedster.

Kaotic Lazagna 02-24-2015 04:16 PM

Chevy Cavalier and......Toyota Cavalier. LOL

Kaotic Lazagna 02-24-2015 04:18 PM

Toyota Yaris and Toyota/Netz Vitz
Chrysler Town and Country, and Dodge Caravan
Ford Crown Vic and Mercury Maurader

Saturn Astra and Opel Astra.
Isuzu Rodeo and Honda Passport
Isuzu Oasis and Honda Odyssey

American owned.. and now Italian owned Chrysler are the kings of badge engineering. Making a complete list of "twins" would take some time.

strat61caster 02-24-2015 04:29 PM

Chevy Nova/Toyota Corolla/Toyota Sprinter/Geo Prizm

Toyota Matrix/Pontiac Vibe

Saturn Sky....Pontiac Solstice.

I wanted so badly to like those two...but I just couldn't go there...might as well buy a Chrysler Crossfire. :-/

Wasn't the Crossfire a twin of some MB?

I don't think cars sold as XXXX in the states vs. XXXX in somewhere else qualifies as a "twin".

I wouldn't say an Acura RSX and a Honda Integra are "twins".

I would agree but... many of those cars have different trim, bumpers and other features. By ruling them out we would also have to rule out our "twins" as the differences between them are probably even less then some of the regional changes.

I am not dis-allowing them because of cosmetic reasons.

Acura is a honda, honda is an acura. Which is why I don't consider our cars "triplets".

What ever you want to call them, scion/lexus, they're all toyotas.

Subaru =/= toyota.

Maybe.

All three strike me as hairdresser's cars.

Not sure why, and maybe I'm being unfair. I've never DRIVEN any of them.

Unlike a Miata, they just seem more pretty than capable. :-/

By that criteria there are no twins at all then. The 86 platform is neither Toyota nor Subaru so going by badging the 86 platform is not a "twin" or "triplet" either but an only child with identity issues.

Drove a Crossfire (or tried to while it was still running) and a Solstice and believe me no self respecting hairdresser would touch one.
Liked the looks of both but oh what pigs they were to drive.
