Not saying it's a valid sentiment (pretty stupid imo, it's a machine not a lifestyle choice) just that this thread is a shining example of the stereotypical "Scion enthusiast".

Forget video games, a lot of us are doing this stuff in real life (the modding that is, not so much the driving into oncoming traffic lol).

Completely understand. 1 guy at my school owns a Blue BRZ. Another one has a silver FRS. I'm the guy with the SWP BRZ with the modded exhaust system, and the only one on the lot with a manual transmission. [Doh!]

Yea I understand that feeling but you just got to mod yours and make it standout and show your style. So then there may be 4 brz/frs on campus but only badass one.

Ok now I gotcha!
Got to remember that it is the younger guys that are going to post on a video game thread.
I probably would have said the same thing back when I was that age. Mind you it would have how big my back tires were compared to my front and how the airbrushed flames came out just right. I would also have had to send it into the letters section of a magazine so it would have been a lot slower!!!!

why would someone film me driving to work, and then post it on youtube saying its a new game coming out?

Lol I own a brz and to me my car is more than a just a machine many car enthusiast feel the same way. And depending on now involved you get, it can be a lifestyle. Checkout a couple of documentary's on Japans car scene

Ah part 2 of the annoying enthusiast mentality: the superiority complex.

I competed in my first motorsport race a decade ago, I've been to shows and meets and watched hundreds of hours of documentaries, no need to lecture me on 'lifestyles', I just want to have fun in my machine and I'm glad you've found a way to do it too.

Do you guys really care if you're not the only one with a twin in town? It makes me kind of happy seeing some driving around, like a "hey buddy" kind of feel.

I would love to see another while I was driving mine! So far the 5 I have seen were pretty much always while driving my wife's car or were parked with nobody around.
Now that could change if I saw 3 or 4 every day.

Need for Speed has sucked for a long time. Underground 2 and Carbon were the last decent games.

These days the only thing significant about NFS is that they're the reason why we don't see Porsches in good racing games like Forza and Gran Turismo.

I think Forza is the best balanced racing game. You can sim race around the laser scanned tracks or you can build fantasy cars like a Mazda RX3 with a 20B Turbo, or a 2000GT with a 2JZ, or a GT86 with a V8 Twin turbo. Something for everybody.

Theres about 7 or so (that I've seen) FRS's/BRZ's in my town, and I fortunately know 2 of them. A little wave is exchanged if I do see one of them though! Interesting to see that they're all automatics, which is strange as they're all owned by college students and our city doesn't have extreme inclines or stop and go traffic. I'm currently learning to get better on mine, and getting better everytime I drive it (I think, hopefully lol). Only trouble I experience is putting the car back into gear while rolling slightly (put it into neutral, still rolling slightly, red light turned green, now what). Oh well, practice makes perfect I guess.

There's thousands of 86's and BRZ's in the city where I live. It's a really popular car in Australia.

I don't mind it one bit. I like seeing other cars on the road. It's interesting to see the modifications that others have done.

Vancouver BC or Wash? If BC a whole shit load more then 7 and if Wash just find that Ultramaroon guy and he will give you MT lessons!
You are right it gets easier with practice. I have been driving MT for 40 years and give shifting no more conscious thought then I do steering or braking. It just sort of ...happens.

This is the first thing I've read that makes me want to play an Xbox One.

Not even own, just play with it for awhile...
