I'm not sure what lowering springs I'd like to get yet. I'm aiming for no more than a 1.4" drop. Any recommendations for rear control arms or other items, or are they not exactly a necessity?

It really all boils down to what you're trying to achieve really. I would say aftermarket control arms aren't a necessity if your only looking to do a small amount of track days and primarily looking to just daily driving, but they sure are pretty haha. If anything I would look into getting sway bars first, but that's just me. A lot of people go with the eibach pro kit springs because they're a good set for the price but there are definitely better ones out there. The bc coils are really good I wish I spent a couple hundred more and went with those to begin with. Tbh if I were you I would just stick with the coils only because the trouble installing springs is much more of a hassle than just replacing the struts with the bc's . Plus they're fully adjustable (height, damper, and camber) so you have much more options. My $.02

I would def do lower control arms or whiteline rear camber kit. There is no real adjustability with these cars from the factory. This will ensure that your chamber and toe are equal on both sides. While your at it, if you dont want chamber plates for the front at least do front crash bolts to give you +/- .25 deg of chamber to ensure your alignment is spot on.
