Wow, I was actually looking for a thread for an answer to this... I have the exact same issue.

I have a flasher module that I installed, and the problem persists. Keep in mind, only one side spazzes like that, while the other side is working normally. I already ordered/installed a replacement, but the same issue remains.

I tested the bulb that works properly on both sides and it was fine, so I know it has to be an issue with the bulb. Am I just unlucky to have received two defective bulbs?

Judging by the time this thread was created, I wouldn't be surprised if OP and I received the lights around the same time.

If one bulb works fine on both sides, then you can definitely be assured it's your other bulb that is not working properly. If you test the switchback that has the problem, it should have it on both sides.

It could be a simple batch problem that they have.

I got my DD switchback LEDs in, as well as the CF18 relay. After installing them, I tested, and they did the same thing as czechm8 described:

- when the headlights / parking lights are off (i.e.: the turn signal bulbs are initially fully off), they flash a quick burst of white before showing amber.
- when the headlights / parking lights are on (i.e.: the turn signal bulbs are showing "parking lights" mode, or "white" for the DD switchback modules), they work normally.

When I was running on the stock relay, they were flashing fast when the engine was on. After I switched the relay, they slowed down to a normal speed (slightly slower than the stock relay with incandescents, with an initial "dwell" time of about 2/10ths of a second before starting up... but I kinda like that).

I won't run into the white flashing as long as I keep the parking lights on, so it's not too much of an issue right now. The white running light mode is really nice. I don't think it looks too bright... but I'm hoping that others on the road agree. I've seen far worse out there, from misaimed HIDs to those awful halogen replacement lights that are all kinds of weird "color temperatures".

They had a timer problem with a batch of switchbacks. I asked them to keep sending me a pair until I could get ones without that initial problem. Eventually the 2nd batch worked out great! Hope you get it resolved. Diode Dynamics have great customer service.

Update for anyone else who had this problem. My third pair from diode dynamics works correctly. Their customer service was great through the whole process. Looks like the first two pairs were from a bad batch.

Hmmm. I might have to contact them about mine.

There was an issue with the manufacturer of the timing component in the switchback bulbs themselves. This is the key part to the bulb, as they must stay off long enough not to reset to white, but still come on quick enough for there not to be a huge delay in coming on! The main problem is that it is difficult to determine this in our quality control, even though we are one of the few (if only?) larger companies to test every single bulb before shipment.

Anyway, we have now resolved this issue by switching the timing component. Please contact us for replacements if your bulbs exhibit this problem.

Thanks!
