So I can't say ****, but I can say fuck.
Huh. When I was looking at a Hyundai Veloster, the dealer was tacking on pinstripes and a Hyundai Owners' Club membership, for about a 2500 markup. I told them I didn't want either, but they said that it was automatically included with the vehicle. Note that I have a BRZ instead of a Veloster now. |
Dealerships around me were doing it when I was shopping. Penis Hannah isn't the only dealership available, for a $5k markup you could fly to another state to buy one under sticker, drive it back and wave $5k in their faces and STILL come out cheaper than if you bought that car.
Also: The blacklist is more for shady dealings, since they're up front about the markup it isn't blacklist worthy. Yet. Seems like the dealers that would throw this kind of markup on would try something during the purchasing process to squeeze you for more. |
The fact is this dealers use this technique of a "Regional Marketing Adjustment" to tack on to the price for a buyer that doesn't care what the price of the car is. The type that just goes to a dealership to see if they can trade in their current car X and leave in car Y with a similar car payment. All they see is car payment and all the car dealerships sees is dollar signs. Either find a good salesman that understands you are an intelligent buyer, or find a dealership that respects intelligent buyers.

I was at Capitol Subaru in Salem/Keiser on Memorial Day and they had a 2014 limited manual in CBS (black) for 25.5k. I think if you have patience you can get a great deal since the '15's are around the corner. The saleman also had no idea when the 15's come out either. I took pictures of the sales tag as leverage when I am ready to buy. Good luck!

Try adding a "Regional Market Price Adjustment" to your trade in. :)
"Oh, I know my car sells for $5k at auction, but I want $8k for it bc there's a $3k regional market adjustment. Oh, you don't pay those? Well guess what? Neither do I!" (seriously, if you decide the BRZ is the car you want, you can buy one over the Internet from 5 States away and have it delivered to your front door for less than the cost of MSRP. No reason to ever pay over MSRP at this point.) |

So then I decided to go with Heuberger Subaru to get my BRZ instead. Got it shipped, at least 6k under invoice, happy customer! tl;dr - Don't go with D-Hannah, I would buy out of state for a cheaper price. |
