Any of subaru's current colors for the BRZ or the WRX look amazing. There litterally isn't one I don't like.

That being said I'm curious to here your opinion on the Turbo end of the Fa20.

Saw my first new WRX out in the wild. Looks so good in person, especially in WRB, but you can never go wrong with red as well :D

BTW I want a full detailed comparison of the cars. I am thinking of adding a turbo to the FR-S that I have or returning to stock and selling the FR-S for a WRX.

I will post a comparo of the 2015 WRX vs my 2011 WRX vs the N/A FR/S for those interested in a little while after I take delivery. I‘d suggest keep that FR-S no matter what unless you need passenger room or a more snow capable vehicle. I am literally in love with my twin, and Ive had her from the very first shipment in my area April 2012. She just started her third water filled tail light yesterday lol. You cant beat the body design/look of it. Go 5 Axis if you want it to look more dramatic. I have 2 kids and with my son getting bigger we really need me to have a family hauler some times. The twin will basically become the Sunday car, which is fine as I truly consider it a classic and want to keep it a log long time. Its a lot less bother than a used Lotus Elise.

As an early adopter I am hugely biased.

Got no early impression of the twin scroll, the demo was a CVT.

I have 15 STI, and my brother in law has WRX. The power figure from the STI and the WRX is very minimally different.

WRX has more low end torque, more grunt, and STI has higher end roar + Rumble
WRX rides plusher (not that much) but noticeably
Both are Super fun on the Curvy roads
STI can slide corners better and give you the Super Man feeling while doing it

WRX and the new FA20DIT will give you stupid grin from ears to ears as well. Comparing to BRZ. I would take STI to be about equally fun with different characteristics and empower you with more confident. WRX is more like BRZ on steriod but without any comparison to handling (too different). That doesn't mean it is bad, just different

Conclusion, WRX is distinctively different than BRZ from Power figures to Handling

WRX to BR-Z
Power = 10 to 7
Handling = 7 to 10

If you need AWD space and power together ---> wrx
If you only need power + handling ----> BR-Z. Sexier, lighter, better handling. I pick BR-Z here because with the adequate power from the BRZ and it handling, you can have more fun
If you need all of those above ----> STI

I pick STI ultimately because I want everything =)

I‘d say definitely go STI if you think you will ever do a track day or go somewhere where you can drive like you are. Its high speed capabilities are superior. For a mostly daily driver/commuter that gets better mileage go WRX. I have an almost 300 HP 2011 WRX now and the 2.5 L power is awesomeup top. With the 2015, I could have gotten an STI sport (mid grade in Canada) for the same cost aw loaded WRX but wanted the equipment of the fully loaded Canadian Sport Tech package, so opted for the WRX. Had I not already owned an EJ25 and if I was young enough to be comfortable with the wing I‘d have gone STI. Had the FR-S going on its 3rd season and have yet to have done a track day despite how fun it sounds like it would be

In summation: STI track ready, shameless racer wing, no compromise, attainable 911 performance.
WRX highly capable daily driver, more conservative, compromise for MPG, no slouch.

oh yeah, and WRX has 30+ mpg on the highway according to the screen detail

I need to go test drive a wrx. I need to see for myself. Wife and are planning to have our first, but that's about 18 months off.

If you are ok with FR-S, you will def fall in love with the WRX. If you think you want adequate power like I do, go for the STI. I love pushing my car to the limit without breaking speed limit. Heck of a lot of fun.

I love to ride in it with my wife, she always grab the inner door handles as I take a huge idiotic grin on my face while taking the curves at almost twice the advised speed (not speed limit) So much Idiotic grin in the new STI, it hurts LOL

I just came back from test driving the 2015 WRX (CVT unfortunately) and STI (6M). I had an '08 and an '11 WRX before the BRZ. Driving the new WRX and STI reminded me painfully how much I miss the torque with the BRZ. The turn-in on both the new WRZ and STI is very sharp, their cornering limits are high and the mid-range torque is awesome. But I drove the same route with my stock '13 BRZ afterwards and I had way more fun driving it. Sure the ride is crap and its bog slow in the mid range, but the steering feel and the cornering are leagues better than the new AWD beasts. My test route has a short downhill S section that was way faster in the BRZ because of the confidence that the steering feel gave me. There is also an uphill S section that is always full of slow traffic. Again, the BRZ was more fun here. Its NA engine has more torque in a an area where both the WRX and STI were uncomfortable off-boost.

These test drives were designed to help me decide if I would replace the BRZ or commit to it. The WRX would be incredibly appealing if it just had the steering feel of the BRZ (and if it was a 5-door - damn you, Subaru). But now I am just that much closer now to deciding to keep the BRZ, go Phantom ESC, lighter wheels, better stereo and a bit of sound deadening. I just have to convince myself that I don't want to stretch to a 997 C2S. I'll have to take Stormalong up on his offer of a ride in his ESC equipped FR-S.
