Great work mate!

I'm using XP. When I plug in the Tarix for the first time I get: "Cannot install this hardware, there was a problem installing this hardware Open Port 2.0. an error occurred during installation of the device, the parameter is incorrect."

It also won't install the drivers thru ecu flash, asking for licensing information.

EDIT: I had to install the driver from the Tatrix wenpage that it said not to use with ecuflash, then ecuflash was able to update the firmware.

Great writeup, thank you for posting.

I'm trying to update to ZA1B01C. I've downloaded the rom and xml file from here. However ECUflash doesn't recognize the xml file.

Does anyone have a matched pair for the latest factory Calib for ECU Flash ZA1B01C ?

I guess using the drivers off the tatrix site was a mistake. ECUflash won't even read the stock rom.

Unfortunately windows doesn't recognize the OpenPort and the EcuFlash program linked above doesn't have the drivers either.

I am afraid the Tatrix is not ready for prime time for our cars too many issues.

I had a similar problem at first. What worked for me was uninstalling everything for ECUFlash and then first installing the NON-Beta version of ECUFlash on the Tactrix webiste. Once that was installed, I connected my OP2 to one of my USB ports and my computer was finally able to recognize my OP2. From there, I installed the BRZ-Beta version of ECUFlash (link in Steve99's original post) right on top of the Non-Beta version and then I was able to get ECUFlash to read and pull down my stock ROM. Give that a try and see if it helps.

I tried that and it works as you see the drivers working with the non-beta, but then when I install the beta it erases the drivers. I'm using XP maybe that's the problem, also the non beta was a fairly older version.

Hmmm, not sure why XP wouldn't work, but I use Win 7, so I guess I can't be certain it's not the culprit.

So, you confirmed that your computer did recognize your OP2 with the Non-Beta version, but then it lost recognition when you installed the BRZ-Beta right after?

I got the driver situation figured out. You have to start with the latest ECUFLash 1.44 get that installs the drivers and gets your firmware. Then install the beta posted above over top. Thanks for the suggestion I was close.

Now I was able to read my stock calib ZA1JA00C, no wonder the engine stumbles.

I just need help finding a matching pair of rom + def file for the latest calib ZA1JB01C.

I believe I've tried everything posted on this site and still get the error that the def file doesn't match the rom.

Anyone?

regal 04-18-2014 03:48 PM

OK I got the hex file TD-D to read with the github def file. I'm ready to flash but was wondering if there is a how to flash basics guide somewhere, like ignition on-off etc.

regal 04-18-2014 03:59 PM

Screw it I flashed it. My 2 year old FR-S now has the latest 2014 Factory Calibration. Screw the dealer and thank you GT-86 Forums!

Added some note to original post re getting drivers from tactrix site for beta and quick flash guide

Just a heads up...you need to use a <=2Gb microSD card with the OP2 logging using the Tactrix. Anything bigger and it wont work.
