Take it into the dealer. Only way to get your tranny swapped is to start documenting the problem @ your dealer.
|
I suspect you may want to return with the stock bushings before you take it into the dealer for warranty work. It depends in the dealer and SOA but they could void your tranny warranty and could blame the aftermarket parts.
|
Thanks guys. As we all know aftermarket parts don't cause problems so I will fight them tooth and nail. It's been garbage since day 1. Not horrific like I can't shift it just not buttery smooth. My buddy had an mk6 and we smashed the shit out of it from day 1 and he was horrible on maintainence. You could flick that thing into gear. Not the case with the frs

I'm gunna put in calls to the two service managers I know well at two Toyota stores.
|
I'm so pissed off at Toyota/Subaru designing a car with so many issues.
|
Just found this if you guys haven't found this post before. So idk. I'm soo on the fence about this.
When the trans is HOT it's def smoother, a lot smoother. Read this: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31929 |
After reading a bunch more. I guess these trans's are possibly just like this. Fuck it. I'll drive the bitch till it shits something out and then fix it out of pocket. I just want race car. And a tune and innovate Are coming really soon!

^interesting I didn't see that post before.
I recently went to Pentosin MTF2 fluid and it was a significant difference in shifting feel. my second gear was always notchy when cold but it a whole lot better now with the Pentosin. And its Uber smooth when fully warmed up. |

Might have to try pentosin. You think it's bad to flush it to many times? Couldn't be right? |
The AISIN gearboxes in these cars are a real problem. The first-to-second gear shift is balky at best. "Scrunch" is a good adjective for this problem. Changing to a 75W 85 gear oil will result in an improved shift over 75W 90, but it does not eliminate the "scrunch" completely. In my mind this is inexcusable and AISIN should correct the problem with their nickle.

I just wish dealers/manufactures were honest and would own up to a design flaw rather then trying to sweep it under the rug. I know exactly how it will go when I take the car to the dealer, they're gunna keep it for a week then tell me it's fine and keep driving come back if it's still a problem. I don't play that game. I'm fully capable of wrenching on cars myself. Very handy with a wrench. I'll pull the fuckin tranny down the road if I have to. |
My service manager buddy called me back. Said the bushings won't be an issue, he will look after me. I'm gunna probably take it into the dealer to get an RO opened and get my complaints documented.

Sounds like your problem isn't in the transmission design but the transmission itself. Like you got a lemon or something. Take it to the dealer for a warranty replacement. Put in all the stock bushings unless you want to replace them again, as I doubt the dealership will leave them with the car. They'll remove them along with the transmission and give you all new stock bushings with the new transmission. |

Valid point though, I don't want them taking my 70$ bushings. |
