i have to say. i had a 10" type s sub installed with the factory 2014 system and there was static and feedback coming from the sub (had it all professionally installed)

ditched the stock headunit and put in a Sony XAV-602BT headunit, all noise went away and the sub hits harder now

glad i went the route i did

The sound systems are the same for the two years just different HU. I actually have a 13 I just impulse bought a 14 HU cuz I got a good deal on it only to realize that scion didn't put rear preouts for an amp like with my stock HU. The two rear speakers in the walls are considered to be "subs". I believe they are 8". I wouldn't consider them subs but since the factory does I figure their signal should be fine to use.

I'm not too worried about that. My harness is going to look and function as an OE harness. I have an aftermarket HU now I'm just not satisfied with how it looks. It doesn't look clean. I have an AVH-X3500BHS.

Hey it's old but we're still posting lol. I revived it unfortunately. But yeah my radio looks almost exactly like that. I'm just unsatisfied with the dash kit. I feel it makes our dash look sloppy. I don't want cheap plastic filling in the gap between my radio and the stock cheap plastic lol.

yea this is true, i persoanlly dont mind it and didnt even really notice it at first,

what i personally dont like about this HU is that external mic for the BT, i need to find a place to hide it better, i have it now right above the rear view mirror

If you pull the head unit out you can feed it through by the steering column and it can sit on top of the steering wheel nice and hidden. That's where mine for the AVH is sitting right now. Works well there too.

Yeah, I'm not gonna lie I'm going off the metraonline.com website, I haven't looked at what the official specs are. If that's the case those are the wires I'll be using for the line out.

Edit: You are correct! Thanks for that!
