No idea if it's normal, but it seems like a pretty effective way to keep them from being released early...

True, but then why even ship it from Japan so early then?

My Doc sheet says 4/24 the RORO Ship that is carrying the FRS/BRZ for the USA has landed at Port of Los Angeles (Long Beach, CA). The release is scheduled for 4/30, where it will make it's way by ground freight to dealers.

It is also showing me that the production date of my own FRS on this boat is 3/26. My chassis number is 00348 on the VIN.

Naturally they would not be sequential for the first 86, as we chose the colors and transmission, which have certain schedules in the assembly line process. The cars can't be made in the order of our 86 first in random colors and equipment chosen, as they make them in batches.

So here it is! Our cars are in Long Beach, locked up and clearing customs and docs now! Heading to dealers soon!

I got an email today from somebody at Longo, saying there was going to be a release event for a first-86 individual to receive his ride on MAY 2. You?

No, I'm getting mine from Penske Downey.
This might be Miguel, who is a winner in Los Angeles...

The wait is sooooo painful...

The info I got from my Scion Regional Sales Rep yesterday was that First86 deliveries would be in the week of 5/14. Regular sales release would be 6/1. Cars will supposedly be on lock down at the dealers until that date. Presumably so that all the dealers can get their initial cars and then make a sales launch in unison.

I couldn't get on the First86 program cause I work for Toyota (yeah that sucks).
