Don't like, but I do like the song. Same soundtrack that was used in the Format67 NSX video. The NSX video is definitely better though.

Interesting concept. Just don't let that shit mix with chlorine and you'll be fine. Hydrogen of course would be much worse since it has a major issue with pulling a "Hindenburg" in certain cases.

Don't know what's worse: orange tires or pretentious video?

That car can run on ugly...

Well, NH3 should really make the crickets sing ....:bonk:

I say we use the NH3 to fertilize the corn and the corn to feed the cows and hogs (and not make ethanol) and we eat the pork ribs and steaks.

If we need more crude oil to make gasoline .... we just go take it ...http://www.runemasterstudios.com/gra...es/fighter.gif

It's ammonia, not nitrates. It would just kill the animals and plants. Though, I do believe that that burns off would be the H3 portion of the ammonia. The reason they should keep it away from chlorine though is it basically makes phosgene if the two mix.

Well, the form of ammonia (referred to as NH3 in the opening post) I was referring to, would be in the form of anhydrous ammonia.

The Wiki person says:

"Approximately 83% (as of 2004) of ammonia is used as fertilizers either as its salts, solutions or anhydrously. When applied to soil, it helps provide increased yields of crops such as maize and wheat. 30% of agricultural nitrogen applied in the USA is in the form of anhydrous ammonia and worldwide 110 million tons are applied each year."

Now, back on the farm ..... I would shank anhydrous ammonia in between the corn rows and it would make the corn grow real well and make lots of corn .... then I would feed the corn to the cows and hogs ..... then eat the ribs & steaks ... Ymmm....Ymmm.

Ammonia is said to offer a higher energy content per kilogram than petrol...
Somebody is taking the piss. Ammonia(5.8kwh/kg) has half the energy content per kilogram of Gasoline(11.8 kWh/kg) and almost half the energy content per gallon.

Gasoline energy density, you can find on the wiki page.

The GT 86-R Marangoni Eco Explorer has been fitted with a special system that enables it to run both on gasoline or ammonia (NH3), which is stored in a separate tank.

Just for clarification, THIS CAR DOES NOT RUN ON GASOLINE

LPG = Propane

I was hoping to see red smoke coming from the tires while green smoke bellowed from the exhaust in the video. Pure Italian

Fresh86 12-04-2013 02:51 PM

I think I only like the brakes other then that...they runied an gt86

projek_01 12-04-2013 03:13 PM

I think someone in Italy needs to hire:

1. someone that has a better idea of styling
2. a chemist or engineer that understands that NH3 is largely made from fossil fuels also....

*edit, if this car runs LPG, it also probably runs gaseous NH3. No wonder why they can claim it has more energy content per KG. Doesn't help when either have to compress the NH3 to ridiculous pressure or have virtually no fuel range.

I don't know how I feel about that faux Lexus bumper.... I really don't. But the red tires are weird and this isn't anything interesting to me. But like mentioned before... Nice brakes.
