Actually, crutchfield is probably the best place to order from in regards to support and installation as they'll SEND the installation kit that's appropriate for your vehicle with the HU.

Ill give you a more detailed review having owned it for about 2 months.
Most common complaint with people is screen washes out in direct sunlight - which is true but you wont get direct sunlight except in the early morning or late evening (at least thats what I find with tinted windows)
The menus are easy to navigate and it will search through a 8GB usb drive with relative ease. Its not perfectly fluid but isnt stupidly slow if you know what I mean. Most video formats play without a hitch, you will need to either buy or make a relay though if you want to bypass the Pioneer safety features. The "AppRadio" cable is an extra purchase (bought mine on amazon for $10). With there only being 1 USB port you have to swap between Appradio and USB drives. Usb splitters dont work.

Anything else you want to know just ask.

Parts:

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...a-95-8202.html - dash kit (requires modification to fit)
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...AX-TOYUSB.html - Keeps factory USB location
Amazon.com : CD-IU201S USB 2.0 Audio Video Adapter Cable for Pioneer iPod iPhone 3GS 4 4S : Electronics - cheap app radio cable (optional)
Amazon.com: Pioneer AVH-X5500BHS Multimedia DVD Receiver with 7" Motorized Touchscreen Display: Car Electronics - good price on HU

can anyone tell me if this is all the wiring required to fit this to a 2013 BRZ?

That is all I plan on getting when I get my head unit (the AVH-x5600bhs, the 2014 version of the model listed here). However, I have found it cheaper to find all of these items on Amazon (the dash kit and harness are packaged together in the beatsonic kit, which most people have found to fit better without modification).

The Metra dash kit needs a little trimming. You can easily do it with small cutting pliers. Cut off plastic in red.

my pioneer avh-x5600bhs just arrived, wiring is all sorted and working. I have cut the Metra kit to the appropriate shape and it fits to the x5600 fine. I'm having an issue actually fitting the unit to the car. it looks like the stock parts from the old head unit aren't fitting flush in the centre console so the holes for the screws wont line up. Has anyone got a fix for this or any more information on how to install this?

I've taken the factory mounting bracket out and put it back in more times than I care to think about. I know exactly what you're talking about, and it's very frustrating, but you just have to keep trying. Take a screw out of one spot and put one in a different spot until all of the screws will go in. Try to get the bottom ones in first.

Do you mean the screws on the head unit or the bolts in the dashboard?

im having trouble mount the headunit back in... using the brackets from the stock unit.... any help?
