Why do you say TRD exhaust is crappy. There not much performance difference between all other exhaust. It come down to personal preference on looks and sound.

^^ Based on what? From dynos I've seen the gains from the TRD are about half what the better exhausts get.

Catback will have little to no difference.You'd be better off finding the lightest cat back and talking about the performance from being light weight.

Only two exhaust pieces that affect performance, headers and front/down pipe.

its all just personal preference. my last car I had a custom exhaust and it was a nightmare. extremely loud and akward to drive around. I never want to go back to those days. so when I heard the trd, thats why I liked it because the sounds was just the right level. and I liked D shaped tips when its combined with the diffuser. and I like to match some parts, so even though I have a brz, I have a trd intake and exhaust ;) I want the nameless catted front pipe/overpipe with resonator, but not sure if that will mess up my sound..

because you're paying for the Name.... it's build quality, materials, and pipe sizing don't warrant the price tag...

keep in mind its a mass produced item with the TRD name slapped on it...

Like the Mopar exhuast for the srt's was just a re-badged Borla unit with a mark up.. people seem to think "I bought it from the dealer and paid $1,000.00 it must be good!!!!"

It's not just peak power, it's power across the rev range, and some cat backs are getting much bigger gains than 3whp. It's not unusual to see 10+whp gained in places from a good one.

I too bought the TRD Exhaust. I wanted something quieter than most, but deeper than the stock exhaust. So far, I really like it. I paid $900 installed. I worked out a deal with the owner of the dealership.
