I'm running Millers Motorsport CRX 75w90 NT in the trans and diff

Quote:

• Synchronized transmissions and transaxles
• For dedicated track cars with limited slip transaxles, all types (see FAQ)
• Not suited for street driven cars with clutch type limited slip differentials

DESCRIPTION:
Competition full synthetic transmission oil. A blend of full synthetic base oils incorporating new "Nano Technology" additive chemistry to significantly reduce internal frictional and power losses.

APPLICATION:
Use as received for the lubrication of competition transmissions and differentials which require API GL4 or GL5 performance. Suitable for use in synchromesh and sequential transmissions. Recommended for modern transmissions where full synthetic oil is specified, especially for high performance road and track day applications. For use in all dedicated track cars with synchronized transaxles, including clutch type limited slip differentials.

USER BENEFITS:
• Exceptional cold flow properties for easier gear changes.
• Fast lubrication flow to component extremes on start up.
• Very good oxidation resistance and superior thermal stability.
• Low friction/low drag formula to help reduce operating temperatures.
• High film strength for maximum component protection.
• Significantly reduces friction, temperature, wear and minimizes power loss.

PERFORMANCE PROFILE:
API GL4, API GL5, API MT-1, MIL-PRF-2105E
ZF TE-ML-02B, ZF TE-ML-05B, ZF TE-ML-07A, ZF TE-ML-12B
ZF TE-ML-16F, ZF TE-ML-17B, ZF TE-ML-19C, ZF TE-ML-21B

TYPICAL CHARACTERISTICS:
SAE Viscosity Grade 75w90
Specific Gravity@15°C 0.875
Kinematic Viscosity@100°C 17.3cSt
Brookfield Viscosity@-40°C 88,000mPas
Viscosity Index 152
Great stuff if you track your car.

Some gear oils meet GF5 and GF4 and Motul Gear 300 is one of them.

Quote:

GL-4; Specified for hypoid gear service under severe service but without shock loading. This classification is essentially obsolete but is still specified by some manual transmission/transaxle manufacturers. Implies an EP/AW additive package that contains 30% to 50% less S-P additives than the GL-5 service classification. Some Marine Gear Lubes fall into this classification, especially the full Synthetic Marine Gear lubes and specialty blenders MT lubes that use high levels of esters.

GL-5; Specified for hypoid gear service but with shock loads and severe service operation. Usually meets Mil-L-2105D and in most cases, is the multipurpose automotive gear oil. Most 75W90 to 75W140 grades meet the GL-5 classification. This grade has a high level of Extreme-Pressure additives that could be mildly corrosive to nonferrous parts, such as brass, bronze and aluminum parts. Most of the modern GL-5 lubes contain metal deactivators that prevents attacks by the extreme-pressure additives. In addition to EP additives, these lubes contain rust inhibitors, defoamants, friction modifiers, thickeners, and Viscosity Index Improvers.

I agree, so I transplanted the nipple from the Motul bottle (which I put in the diff.) to the Pentosin bottle to fill the trans. Worked nicely with no need for a transfer pump.

I've been using Pentosin MTF2 for about 8500 miles. I noticed an immediate improvement in shift quality. Good stuff.

once my last free oil change is done from dealership ill be switching all fluids with Motul.... Goodspeed will be doing all of my maintenance once my last oil change

Motul Gear 300 all day. Our transmission shifts real nice now.

So let me get this straight because I keep reading conflicting stuff. Can I use Motul Gear 300 in the Tranny, and differential?

Thanks for this thread, I found a deal on ebay for 6 quarts for $70 shipped. Its very convenient doing two cars and being able to use the same oil for diff and manual gear box.

FYI Motul 300 is a little on the thick side compared with some of the other popular choices.

I'm doing MT-85 tranny fluid change tomorrow along with the Perrin shift rod bushing. Hope it would make a big difference in shift feel.
