Actually, it's rather hollow.

The ITR guys put a 275 on a 6" front.

Unfortunately the PG-5S are discontinued, the only place to get them was direct from Velox. When I bought mine last July they only had 6 wheels left. I actually just bought a fifth wheel about a month ago along with another BRZ owner so they are gone now. They are 13.8lbs in 17x7 5x100.

Had my first event of the season yesterday (and first in 5 years). The results haven't been posted yet and my number was screwed up so I didn't get my times, but I did "alright." Looking forward to some respectable times in upcoming events.

We had 6 runs, the first of which was a DNF. I only got that and my 2nd run (my slowest by far) on video because of mind blowing horrible battery life on my new GoPro.

After reading this forum I'd planned to run my nearly stock FR-S in SCCA RTR but found that my region doesn't have that class listed in results. It appears that they either put the lightly prepped twins into either C Stock or Street Tire, or the entrants choose other classes. I emailed them to ask if it was OK to run RTR but haven't heard back yet.

If the entrant pays the SCCA fees and chooses RTR, do they have to open that class for the first time this year?

They'll let you run in whatever class you want. The only reason you might want to change is to actually have someone else in your class.

Got any pictures of the fitment on that? That sounds pretty crazy lol.

Looks smooth, like the low angle.

What RPM did you launch? It sounded like it bogged for a moment. Is there an optimum launch RPM for the FA-20? My previous limited launch tests with Toyota VVT-i on a 2JZ IS300 5M/T showed a lower RPM (2,500 or so) produced better times than a wheel spinning start. Apples and oranges, but might be similar.

I'd enjoy competing against other twin pilots but all of them (3) are in STX so are probably more prepped than my budget allows.

It's not too bad. Race tires are made to go on too-narrow wheels. Hoosier makes a 255/45-17 that I would like to try but the extra $75 a tire and being taller means I probably won't.

That was a pretty bad run, almost 5 seconds slower than my fastest. I hadn't actually launched the car once until that autox. I just hit 1000 miles on the car when I pulled in to the site. That launch was probably at about 4k and I probably dumped the clutch too fast. I played with it and by my last launch I was better, about 4500 and let the clutch out a lot slower.

The camera was mounted to the tow hook with a handlebar mount.

You'll be competing against them, officially or not. ;) Honestly if your car isn't fully (or at least nearly) prepped I wouldn't worry about what class you're in at all. Just go out there and have fun, register in whatever class you want. The classes that your region are listing are just what people have registered in. If you register in RTR it will show up.

One thing I forgot to mention - I brought my sprayer, air hog, pyrometer and tire pressure gauge but decided after my first run I wasn't going to mess with them and would just concentrate on driving. I did take temps on the front tire after one run though. 93-91-89, outside to in. They're begging for more than my stock camber. I'm having a tire mounted tomorrow (the tire place damaged one of my brand new wheels!) so I'll put the crash bolts in tonight and have them throw it on the alignment rack.
