I would let him rent it for $30,000/day, min 1 day rental

shirker 05-08-2013 03:35 AM

You'd be stupid to let him borrow it without insurance. Kid's got balls for asking, but seriously??

Quasimoto says: "I'll probably invite him to drive my car around WITH me in the passenger though".

YOU got me wondering, PROBABLY? Does he already have a date? Are you a member of the gay community? That's OK - just take him to the prom.:drool:

This kid basically wants to borrow my car for his senior prom and as much as I would love to, no way in hell will I lend a $30,000 to a teenager. I feel bad having to say no. I'll probably invite him to drive my car around WITH me in the passenger though. But I was curious to hear what you guys think or what you would do.

Is he over 18? If not, you could get in some serious legal trouble loaning a car or being in the car with a minor. Do you know if he even has a valid license? Are there driving restrictions for kids his age? If I knew him or the parents that would be one thing, but I would never let a stranger drive my car.

This is a bad idea.

Marcoscrdo 05-08-2013 07:48 AM

Lmao thats crazy! No way i would do that, but offering a ride is eh. But still a lot of work to show up and look for this kid. You don't even know him (i think) plus letting him borrow the car? Pft i'd imagine:

What if the note-writer is an eighteen year old female cutie and saw you drive up at an earlier time? Maybe she is looking for an an 'older' date with maturity, good looks, cash and, of course, a nice car? maybe you should call. Just use all of the aforementioned advice.

BRZfan 05-08-2013 07:54 AM

Kool.

"I yanked, I um yanked the thing"
"I just wanted to do bad things"
Did you know you could kill someone? - "Yes but I wanted to do hoo-rah things with my friend"

My question: Where is Dad???

Or she could be under 18 and the OP could end up in jail.

I would smile, trash the note and not give a second thought to it.
