Dave since you have exp is it dumb for me to wait for many of them to get to the lot then buy? Or preorder? It doesnt matter for FRS Because of the pricing way but i just want to make a good finacial decision.

And. Good to know tbx ill use Fitzgerald too its so near my house lol

No kidding right! Im thinking I need to setup a second residence in Tampa for 3-4 months so I dont have to drive 4 hours to get there and say....no I'm not really interest in that one.. Damn local dealer doesnt want to budge on price (MSRP) , so I might have some high gas bills coming up here real soon.

If you are really planning to buy one, the deposit is refundable, and thier not cashing it, so no real loss. Better to be in line if you are serious about buying one upon release.

Just my 2 cents

Awesome! Theres another poster "orbital eclipse" who won the first 86 who may be getting his frs through them as well. Should be a good group of us for future meet ups if anyone is interested

Watch them only send limiteds... forcing everyone to spend that extra 3k if they really want one :paddle:

+1. Very, very true...I can see that happening, oh well not an issue for me since that is what I want, but for others it could extend the waiting game.

Wait, you people are actually giving dealerships money now for a car with an unannounced price on top of the fact that you can't spec the car how you want or actually pre-order? I'm sure they'll gladly take it...

Yup, $500 100% refundable so I have no qualms with putting it down. If it gets me the car sooner and at or under MSRP then it's worth it.

At least that would make my decision easier

Even though there are only two trim levels (premium and limited), don't forget there's also an automatic or manual option.

So far we have the following options to choose from:
auto or manual
7? colors
premium or limited

Well for all of you who are worried about not being able to pre-order feel free to take your name off your dealers waiting list. Especially if you're one of the 6 in front of me :)

Seriously though it looks like two trim levels and color choice, any other options will most likely be dealer add ons. From what my dealer told me when they get one in they'll go down the list calling in order. The first to say they want it get's it. If you want to wait for a different one it's not like you lose your place in line.

I'm very flexible on color, and unless there is a huge price difference between the Premium, and Limited I could care less. Only thing I really want on the Limited is the heated seats.

get ready for huge markups! If the dealers only get 1-2 per month, and that's only the high volume dealers, they are going to wring out every penny they can for those 1-2. Get ready to pay through the nose if you want a "first BRZ." Low supply + high demand = I'll probably just wait until next year and VIP pricing.

I think you are confused. You can still pre-order your car and select your options, but that car will come out of the allotment that your dealer gets. Typically dealers have their allotment, and they are also able to order additional cars for customers who want something that isn't in inventory. With the BRZ, the dealers will only get their allotment and nothing else, so any car they sell you means 1 less they can sell to anyone else (who may be willing to pay more than you). You can still select your own options and get your car whenever it is available, which is your number in line divided by how many BRZs your dealer gets per month.

If you go and order a WRX right now, Subaru will put that order in the queue and it will be built and delivered asap, regardless of how many your dealer is alloted. If you ordered 10 WRXs right now, in a few months a truck would roll up with 10 WRXs on it. If you go and order a BRZ right now, it will not get built until there is an opening in your dealer's allotment (1-2 per month). If you ordered 10 BRZs right now, first everyone else who bought a BRZ at the same dealership would get theirs, then you would get your BRZs 1 or 2 at a time for the next 5-10 months.

And that's when you say FU and go down the street to the Scion dealer to pick up a FR-S. Wait a couple weeks for the guy with the "first BRZ" to oversteer into a tree and take his front end to bolt onto your FR-S. Bam you now have a BRZ premium...
