Ah crap you just reminded me I needed to try my Perrin flash. I'll do that now and put on some miles to get a sufficient read tomorrow.

How did it go?

Only got to drive for around 20 miles, and my gas tank was full - I believe the Evap Sys readiness only works when gas level is between 1/4 and 3/4 so I'll check later in the week. I'll also check at cold start, since that's apparently when the Evap Sys readiness is performed.

That said, I read up on NY Inspection requirements and I'll need two incompletes before I'd get a fail. MA probably has a similar deal?

I believe they don't allow any.... MA is a CARB state.

NY as well. Just found this - http://www.vehicletest.state.ma.us/m...emissions.html

You're ok with one incomplete for MY2001+

Still, I'd like to find out why some of us have these incompletes, even after following a proper drive cycle procedure. Which one is incomplete for you?

O2 System.

I have not voted yet... I'm on BRZedit Personal Tune..

I have not voted because I'm not sure about what i am seeing with techstream using the generic OBDII readiness check screen. It seems like evap never flips to complete and catalyst monitor toggles back and forth... I have not checked to see what difference engine on vs off makes.

I never get any CEL's and it should only take 2 drive cycles to complete all checks.

Also, A drive cycle is defined in the service manual as 30 seconds of idle, and 5 minutes of driving at 25mph or more. Speed can drop bellow 25mph during the test.. total time just needs to be 5 minutes or more.

You can also force the ecu into fast test mode (with techstream) that will complete all tests in a single drive cycle.

You also need to be between 1/4 and 3/4 of a tank for fuel in order for the evap readiness to complete. If you are outside of that range, it'll stay incomplete. Waiting to burn off some fuel this week before testing it out on my second tune, but I definitely was at half tank when I performed the test with my first one.

I flashed back to stock ROM, problem went away. Everything clears.

The O2 sensor monitoring is also used for the Catalyst monitoring. Having the O2 saying "NOT READY" will result in a Catalyst system "NOT READY" as well. With 2 systems not ready, there is zero chance of passing in most states.

I like that this thread was started @2forme.
