Brain, is the use of a Catch Can required or recommended? If so, what does Vortech suggest?

Maybe we should stay on topic of this thread which is about the specific and non specific parts of actual kits installed. This is heading towards the general topic of the systems not the members specific vehicles and experiences

X2. Please make a new thread for questions regarding non-vortech items.

@reyruiz191 I definitely agree with trying to post up the latest numbers/mods for each link since some of us can only run 91/93 octane and thus Skatery's numbers are deceiving, likewise for those that can get E85 they should be able to look more specifically at those setups.

Thanks for the input, I've already started adding some info related to everyones current setup, i'll update more of it later on tonight including what mods they have, fuel, boost, etc.

I do have a question for those running the system already, how many of you guys are currently using gauges and what setup did you did decide to go with as far as cluster and gauges?

Sorry, I saw the use of a Catch Can as a set-up question.

No problem, vortech designed the kit so that you can pretty much bolt it on to an otherwise stock car. So the use of a catch can isn't absolutely necessary, but of course it wont hurt if you run one.

I honestly recommend a Catch Can to everyone going FI. The amount of blow by you start getting with the psi pressure is just not good for the pistons and the gas mixture, which will lead to detonation, and the motor is done.

My .02

This. I strongly getting a catch can for FI, even two catch cans. I've seen what happens with my own eyes when you track this SC car with no catch can. Not pretty.

Definitely dual, breather and PCV. I've seen what a turbo BRZ looked like with no catch cans, so we have both points of view.

How many running the kit are running a catch can? I'm currently not running one, currently getting my money together for my gauge setup then shortly after i'll be putting money towards a catch can as well as other parts for more power and suspension.

I am currently running one Radium catch can on the PCV System. I have a second one in my bedroom I haven't installed yet for the breather. Still trying to engineer a mounting solution.
