Right, the point is that it might be malfunctioning by putting more braking effort at the wrong times and causing the excess wear, not your driving style.

I have my car back now. We'll see if the problem returns but I'm assuming it would take another 10,000 miles.

I actually woke up this morning and thought of that. They're blaming the caliper, so I got a new right rear caliper and brake pads for both sides.
