I guess some stuff you should keep off this forum. Haha

Cool, but where I'm from one can get cited $350 for holding a phone in a hand whether you're texting or just holding onto it because you love it.

Personally, at a red light, I always keep my eyes on what's happening around me, because just because the light turns green doesn't mean you always have a right to go; sometimes a car runs a red light or a stupid pedestrian is still in the crosswalk. Either way, those are some of the few things that can be missed when checking your phone at a red light.

Thanks for sharing though.

Unfortunately having your faced buried in your cell phone 24/7 is the new "normal"...I was walking behind a dude a few weeks ago in downtown DC and he crossed the street right in front of a car, which came to a screeching halt literally 3 inches from his legs, and this guy didn't even look up from his phone. At work during meeting breaks, instead of shooting the shit with the other folks in the meeting, everyone immediately breaks out their phone. I don't know if I'm anti-social, a geezer, or what, but it just seems f'd up...

The new normal...VVV

Exactly...it's called "Situational Awareness" and people just don't have it any more. :bonk:

Wow, there are a lot of people on this forum that own one of these...

The guy clearly stated that he was stopped at a red light, as in not driving. Don't have to bury him for it...

Ok, since the POINT was missed, let me restate it...

So I was thinking about the forum site, and I had it on my mind so much, that I decided to check it on my phone instead of waiting til I got home... thinking there was SOME thread I NEEDED to read.... So instead of waiting, I grabbed my phone and checked it... showing my ADDICTION to the website www.ft86club.com

"OHH.... THATS WHAT HE WAS TRYING TO SAY... WELL WHY DIDN'T YOU JUST SAY THAT"

I did try to say that, but you guys seen redlight and cell phone in the same sentence and went bananas.... geesh!

Considering how I'm not a falcons fan, but I did notice plenty of upset ones last night...

Thank me if people here stopped using their phones period anytime the car is on, for the sake of the car.

not flaming, just surprised that I stopped looking at my phone ever since owning this car. I'm obsessed with the driving. It really is making me a better driver.

speaking of flame...and flamingos

I thought this was hilarious actually haha. I can't say it doesn't sound familar.

Honestly, I don't see the big deal in using your phone at a stop light. Don't worry about what others think or say about it man. Some people get a rise out of life picking at others for something to feel good about themselves.

dsgerbc 01-21-2013 09:50 AM

People like this, who think they'll just check their mail/texts/web at a red light only to end-up holding traffic piss me off. Especially when it's a short left turn signal. If you're surrounded by other cars on public roads - pay attention. Not only it's the rule of the road, it might just save your life/car.

When at a traffic light you should still be looking at the intersection. If you develop a blind instinct to start driving once you catch green with your peripheral vision while doing something else you'll end-up being t-boned by someone running yellow/red/pink light.
