i call b.s. but then again if you're getting cars directly from toyota off the production line some way some how touche to you... the rest of the world doesn't operate that way though.

Normally, dealers sell a new released car a few day before its official release date.

:bonk: it all depends on when a dealer gets one on the ground. you'll see the first sales coming from california because it closest to the ports that toyota imports its Japan built vehicles from. From there the trains and trucks will transport them across the country as fast as possible but a dead on release date and "pre official release date release" is all subject to location wouldn't you agree?

You're right. If Toyota want to deliver all cars to the dealerships at or before release date, they need to get the car about a week before release date. That's said, some dealer will get the car about a week before release date.

No way you're getting the cars by Christmas, January, or even February. Car isn't even in production yet and you admit you have no ETA, yet you're thinking of wildly optimistic arrival dates? I hope you didn't inform your customers that those are the dates that the car will arrive because if you did, they might be a tad disappointed and perhaps angry.

Japanese dealers all respect the release dates, they do not deliver the car until the exact date. However, I'm not a Japanese dealer, and they have no control over what I do with my cars once it's arrived on to my hands. And I don't buy toyotas from their dealers, I get them directly from factory.

I'm pretty sure April is the north American launch, the JDM cars will be on the road far earlier than that. In fact when the GTR launched in 07, No customers cars could be delivered until mid jan of 08. My car arrived on Xmas eve of 07.

We will wait and see when I can get more info from Toyota. I'm expecting the car will cost around 350k (45k usd)to 380k (48k usd) HKD with the first registration tax included

That was the first thing that came to mind as well. We've seen videos of the cars in production. There's no way they could do a global launch and have enough cars if they simply started up the line at the beginning of April and wanted to have them all shipped and on dealer lots by May.

From what I heard, there are no cars in production...just pre-production units.

The final release date has not been set but all they say is spring. Spring can mean June 2012 or march 2012.

mockngbrd 12-05-2011 10:09 PM

pls take photos of the white!

you guys don't even wanna start thinking how much it'll cost once it hits Singapore with the craziest car taxes... in the world...

+ give us a review of how the AT performs... cos i might have to share the car with my significant other and she does not like my manual cars

(i dun call BS cos i did see GTRs get into HKG really quick... i even got a ride in a GTR from Charles of the HKG BMW club)
