Exactly why I went with the FR-S.

At first I couldn't decide because the BRZ just seemed like the smarter buy, with all the extra features. But the more I looked at both, the more I fell in love with the FR-S front end.

Gotta drive em! If you like it kick out the back end a little easier then the Toyota may be the way to go. If you like it to grip, handle better, and like the interior to look a hair more upscale then the BRZ may be the way to go. Check around for insurance quotes as well. The BRZ is actually cheaper for me despite the higher payment since the insurance is lower. Throw in the Nav and HID's and it was a no-brainer for me. Plus the FR-S front end looks a bit ricey to me where the BRZ looks like it won't age as bad. It really depends on the person.

Hmmmmm..I might wait to see if they change em..a bit or..of the frs comes with xtras fo 14model

FRS is lighter has stiffer rear suspension and BRZ has more luxury and stiffer front end.

the result is the BRZ will understeer more and the FRS will oversteer more depends on preference really. they are basically the same thing

I think he said that because there are no WRB scion bumpers. So that'd make it significantly more difficult to do a swap.

If the OP wanted to swap a FRS bumper he wouldnt be able to find one in that color. No biggie but something to consider.... then again a FRS bumper in WRB would probably be a looker :drool:

There is always the paint gun to cover the fr-s front bumper!!!

You have to park the cars next to each other to know what you really want. The day after I bought my brz, I took my bro in law to go look at the Scion version. When I parked my brz next to it, we both came to the conclusion that the brz is the better looking car. To name a few things we liked, the BRZ has, better looking headlight with LED and DRL(compare to the chrome non-LED headlight of frs), simpler looking front bumper, fender vent looks better than scion version, and the interior has a navi while the FRS has a 1990 cheap looking cassette deck. Plus IMO the full black red stitched seats of the brz looked better than the FRS and the dash looks better on the brz because its all uniformity. I also hate the white rpm dash of the frs and the fake carbon fiber dash.

I personally bought the brz because its got all the bonus over the frs and the best part is that they are all covered under factory warranty should something goes wrong.

In the end its your choice. Just dont buy a car that you would regret.

i like the FRS looks.. not digging the BRZ front end but i would like a push start but i can mod one.. like the pioneer upgrade radio on the FRS no need for a navi have that on my GS3.. also like the 86 logo piston on the sides..

It totally depends on what you want. Do you want keyless access, navigation, heated leather seats and all those luxury features in your sports car? Or do you just want to get in the thing and drive, and that stuff is just dead weight to you? Is this a commuter/daily driver or a fun weekend car? Do you plan on modifying the suspension at all? (if so, the differences between FR-S and BRZ don't matter as soon as you change the springs and shocks)

At first I thought I wanted the bare-bones FR-S, but then I looked at how much stuff you get for the extra money in the BRZ Limited, and it only adds 16lbs, and I was spoiled at the time driving an Audi S4 with all the same luxury options, I decided to go with a BRZ Limited over the FR-S.

Regarding the BRZ front end, I really think it looks better in the darker colors - Crystal Black, Dark Gray, Galaxy Blue. The darker colors draw less attention to the "mustache", and the LED lighting is just flippin' sweet!

I agree drive them both to see which one is for you, I initally test drove a Silver BRZ with an automatic transmission 700 miles on the car and the local dealer wanted new car pricing. I test drove a FRS the next day with the 6SPD MT and loved the car but something was missing. It did not have all the nice features a car needs like navigation and heated seats that I have gotten used to having on cars. I was thinking about the FRS all night until a coworker told me to check the dealer in Jacksonville FL as they had several BRZ's on the lot. I drove down and test drove A WRB BRZ Limited and immediately knew this car was for me.
