It would be livable, but not as good as a panther platform, rental car, or Fiesta. Seriously, the Fiesta is the smoothest car over crappy roads I've driven in awhile..I don't know what Ford did, but I would be looking at that car if I lived in New York.

Good luck.

interesting point, and so "gotdamn" true!,and all the "asswipes"
yackin' on a cell phone strapped to their heads, while in heavy traffic!
if you think they will "always" see you, then you better think again!
make goddamn sure you see them first!

I live in downtown Philly, and I would be genuinely worried about being invisible if I had an FR-Z. We have some completely insane on ramps, which descend from overpasses into the LEFT lane, with concrete barriers reducing everyone's visibility. Merging in one of the twins during rush hour could be touchy.

I drove into Manhattan last week for the first time ever. I though los Angeles had shitty roads... the car handles it pretty well but I wouldn't want to make the ride any lower or stiffer if I had to live there.

I've been in Manhattan 3 times since getting the car. I've hit a big pot hole, and while it felt like I would blow a tire, no harm was done. On the other hand, I was almost run over by a truck changing lanes, so be aware and take care, as you're not very visible.

drive sensibly and with a bit more caution and your fine.
