WOW. Got your panties in a bunch huh? I'm curious to know how you would handle a real problem/crisis.

Let me make it easy for you. If you don't want an automatic, don't buy one. There, problem solved. :)

Lack of sales = Poor sales numbers
Poor sales numbers = Car gets canned from production

Besides, anyone who wants the "pure driving experience" would opt for the standard over the auto. Many FR-S and BRZ will never see a track or throw the rear out for a drift. In a society driven by economics, it's only smart for a manufacturer to get the most appeal out of their product.

NSX was available as an auto.

It's built with the pure driving experience in mind, and delivers shifts just like a manual (when in proper sport mode).

MT vs AT is a preference. One is not "better than the other" and boils down one's own personal choice in how they'd choose to drive their car.

Look, I understand that the trans is great. But do you think the non-enthusiast community buying this car will honestly ever turn off VSC and traction control or ever kick it into sport mode? No.

Not a lot of driving experience is required to drive those cars with auto, and they aren't pure driving experiences like the twins. These cars are supposed to engage you in driving. An auto box just takes away from that.

And all the cars you listed are definitely sports cars, just not the automatic versions.

Saying the Supra was also a sellout AND having your screen name "SupraLove" seems a tad ironic.

The consensus is that you're a retard. Have a good day and try not to eat any more scented markers. :bonk:

Oh hey the RX-7 was also sold in auto.

I tracked my wifes FR-S last weekend and was really impressed with the auto transmission and had a blast.

Well, based on the statistics, Toyota simply added a slushbox to the GT86 to get more sales. That is a definite sellout.

I'm pretty sure Toyota is a company and they are here to make money. Are you buying an Automatic? If not, why do you care? You're not driving it and nobody is forcing it down your throat.

And selling out? You're crazy. Would you buy it if Toyota offered it ONLY in two tone bright pink and purple? There's a thing called choice. Deciding between auto and manual is a choice. Do you like choice? It doesn't seem so.

sofrsnsokleen 09-06-2012 01:49 PM

F1 cars are paddleshift automatics and take insane skill to drive, so because they arent manual they aren't true sports cars?? I've seen plenty of people with mt cars that never do burnouts or take it to top speed. Unless you're tuning to race all the time, no one will be topping out on a regular basis. Your argument is irrelevant.

There is this car called the NSX that Honda/Acura sold. Some say it's sporty but I dont care. I think Honda was a sell out because they had the option of an automatic. It destroyed my image of them forever!!!11!

honestly dude. my girlfriend loves driving my MT and she'll get on it hard! so seriously your whole thread is pointless.

m.box.design 09-06-2012 01:51 PM

Every time my girlfriend drives the car she turns all of the safety systems off and throws the back end around beautifully....just sayin:iono:

Hotlava86 09-06-2012 01:53 PM

And she drove and AT at the dealership (she is considering buying one) and she had all the systems off on it too. and whipped it around like crazy and pissed the sales guy off. So your whole thread is even more void....

:dnftt:Troll gonna troll while he drives an auto camry?

The point of auto sales is to sell cars. You aren't making much sense.

If a mfr sees a market that needs tapped they are going to tap it. Plain and simple. They aren't "seeling out". But the cars are definately sold out as described in your own signature.
