These cars aren't difficult to work on. If you're experienced, these transmissions come out pretty quick.

Just repeating, I didn't have any codes before dropping it. Never other than a tire pressure light one time, years ago and thats not check engine. I don't know where the got that info about "didn't you notice the check engine light". I would have noticed. I'm the guy who changes oil every 5,000 miles and puts the date on the filter.

What code is it throwing?

I was fully expecting this to look like dodgy work but I've gotta say, it does look like rodent damage to me. I wouldn't expect the harnesses to be that expensive. Also replacing the clutch isn't too hard to do, quite possible to do solo without many tools.

chipping off bits of insulation like that as a simulation would probably take more than 2 hours to accomplish.
