cant speak for modern radios, but ive had japan-specific radios from the early to mid 2000s(and even older) before and can confirm they wont pick up a bit majority of US stations.. you may be lucky and catch a few that you like, but otherwise it's pretty useless as a general radio.

regardless of all that, none of these radios are OEM.. you can buy the USDM version of the same radio from Pioneer...
