Was just wondering if it'd be possible, for the people on your ignore list, to have their posts quoted by other users not be visible as well.

Thanks!

To get back to the original point of this thread (because let's be honest, not _all_ the threads on this forum need to de-rail ;) ).

I doubt it.

Mostly because the quote function is just a text box with a link like so:

Quote:

blah blah blah what a load of crap
Sure you can add a name but I think other than rendering a link to the person's original comment, it's a static forum element:

Even just doing this doesn't add a link, it's just a static quote with a name affixed to it.

As for the rest of your problem, personally I don't mind your posts. Not sure why everybody overreacts to them.

Out of this whole thread, the only real problematic person was @therealstoly because he unnecessarily called out people by their... bolt pattern?? And then ran off.

beltax90 03-05-2021 03:27 PM

Just a regular Friday of modest mayhem, it's all good.

If it's a standard quote (like I've done here) it does contain a reference back to the original message (the blue arrow), so, in theory, it could be done but since it's not already done that probably means the coding is not there to support it.

You quote back to the original message by putting the message id in the opening tag (replace | with [ and ]

Yeah, forgot to add that case since i was quoting him already :p.

But yeah, other than rendering the link to the comment I don't think there's any other functionality for it, so it's "static" in that quotes are just another chunk of text in a post, not a blockable element dependent on user settings if that makes sense.

lol that is not what happened to you. You started a thread about BST practices you didn't agree with, got called out, and hid. Then you commented on someone else's thread attacking them, got called out, and you hid. Now you are doing the same thing again like you are a victim. Maybe just internalize those things from now on :iono:

I personally didn't see what you were so mad at grumpy about.

As I've said before, Stoly sounds like a karen. Dude needs to take a chill pill if he gets angry at literally anything that he doesn't agree with.

As for you beltax, I find your posts strange, but I have nothing against you personally. Just try to stay on topic when creating new threads.

this is exactly how i feel. you and i might not seem to have anything in common, or get the same jokes, but i respect your participation.

just about anything outside of the technical advice here should be taken lightly. we're all here to have a good time, and everyone's version of that is something different.

This is odd. It says this thread is two pages, but i don’t see a single post.

LOL same all around.

I find some of beltax's post strange but I am not bothered by him. Reminds me of another poster from a forum from about 15 years ago.

Shit, any arguments I have had on a forum I don't take any offense from. I'd buy anyone here a beer
