As useful as it feels to keep adding these, I don't think it'll matter in the end.

Reason I say this is that where I previously worked (network security IT), we dealt with something with domains in particular. Things like:

Code:

kfjdfhdfjdf.facebook.d3948.wiz.net
Well, that's a poor example but gives you the idea.

Basically these are algorithmically generated domains. So they use randomized characters. There's basically no limit to them.

Same thing is happening with these spammer bot email addresses.

Most likely they're all one-offs or mostly one-offs. So blocking them doesn't matter much because they can just create as many more as they want.

Ideally the forum software would have more qualifiers that can be added so that new accounts don't have adequate permissions.

i.e. an account needs 10 posts, 3 thanked posts, etc. in order to be able to send DM's.

Not sure if this version of vBulletin has that ability or not, though.

I was thinking the same thing but I don't think Ichi has control over that. The two I got both had zero posts.

Yeah same situation happened to me a few times over the past week after I posted a WTB in the members classified :barf:.

That's too bad :sigh:

Def I agree with you on this one. Major reason I’m doing is really isn’t only for us here forum. Mostly for other forums. If members like us are there, they’ll be smart & Google search those email. When that happen, pick up this thread & see that it’s scam.

How many will help? Reality, very low, but if it helped 1 person from getting scammed. It’s worth updating on my side imo
