This guy fits a rear facer in the BRZ, and has 2 options. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAdeZjLW02s&t=378s This reviewer has a pan shot of a rear facer in the 86 (at 6:05) Not sure what type he uses, or if the front seat is pushed way far up and its kind of "prevented" from sliding back with whatever is on the floor. Oh and how tall are you? Every reviewer and every driver of this car says the rear seats are next to useless, which would be true if you are 6 feet tall, cuz the seat would have to go all the way back. I'm 5'-7" and i can sit behind myself in a comfortable driving position (slightly cramped), so i would be able to make a child seat work. (worst case scenario for me, baby seat takes up all the rear space in the passenger side and my wife whos shorter than me would just ride behind me. Or we just take the SUV...lol) |

The thing is that getting the seat, baby and passenger in the car is one thing but all the stuff that goes along with it is another. You start cramming strollers, diaper bags, coolers for formula, folding playpens, etc, etc in there and soon the car just is not big enough.
I fully get people want to keep their sports car but once you start down the road of a family you sometimes need to put on your big boy pants and suck it up that your life has now changed for the next 18 years or so. |

It works....you just need the right sized stuff :D This guy has a standardized trunk items test and somehow fit it all inside (around 12:00) |

I would hate to try and use my FR-S for a primary family car. As a second car in a pinch it works. While my daughter was an infant and toddler we had a 4Runner and a Corolla SE. I used the Rolla for the work commute, and the Runner for all other activities involving the kiddo. I can’t imagine using the FR-S in that scenario. It’s way more practical than a Miata but that isn’t saying much. [emoji38]
I’ve seen people get really creative to use the FRS/86/BRZ for family duty, but I’m about 6’3” so nobody with any kind of legs is sitting behind me. LOL And reaching back there to buckle and unbuckle an infant car seat would be a nightmare. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
