Ok I can kinda see where Miller's coming from. I live in Eugene so traffic never gets too hectic but having a car that can change direction so quickly makes going through the city pretty fun. BUT, I will always take a good empty backroad if I'm looking for some reasonable fun on public roads. More fun and less risk to others. And of course track/autocross course is the place to really stretch out the car's legs

This is the issue I've been encountering lately. Having done a lot of track days with the car, anytime I drive it on the street (even canyons) feels frustrating because I'm always having to hold back. The cornering limits are simply too high to push safely on public roads. I'm tempted to get the least-grippy set of tires I can for street use just to lower the limits and make them more accessible on a daily basis.

Either ones fine. Just happy to drive the car. Like REALLY happy. I’ve never been on any back road or twisty road unfortunately. Nothing but highways here and that’s fine with me. Traffic doesn’t bother me much and road trips have been fantastic. It’s really a phenomenal car for whatever you use it for. Whether you beat the shit out of it or not, you’ll have a great time and truly enjoy yourself

I prefer country roads not only with the Twins but with any car.

You realize the "gauge" in the dash is a dummy gauge, right? The needle locks into the center position over a range of 40° or 50° F. It doesn't move again until there's a danger of overheating. You could be right at the edge of overheating and never know it.

I sometimes got a perverse pleasure out of driving my '74 Cadillac hearse around in NYC. It was like doing battle, except I was driving a tank against people in Hondas.

What you’re describing here is not safe driving on public streets.”flat out” in these cars doesn’t stay under 60kmh for long, despite them being “slow”.

For what it’s worth, I’ve never had fun driving my twin in Toronto, unless Milton is now being included in that, since the Mohawk Raceway parking lot manages to fit some real fun autox courses in it.

Well, I've never driven in Toronto, but, I have driven my MG, MX5 and FR-S in several cities. I never found that to be fun, in fact, I've been known, while traveling, to skirt waaay around large cities.

IMHO. zig-zagging around in city traffic is downright dangerous. Maybe not for the experienced driver, but for the old coots on the streets that can't see too well or hardly hear at all and their reflexes aren't what they think they are.

Yeah even though a good handling car is better in both situations I much rather the twists in the country. Although in downtown there is a pretty sweet highway on ramp that's fun at 2am when there is (basically) no traffic. It looks pretty straight on the map but with all the merging lanes it's actually quite the slalom. The last trip the wife and I had in the US we went through 18 States. We only went through one major city and that was Dallas at 8am on a Saturday. We rarely use the Interstate.
