Question... Did you get the car used with mods? Did the original owner swap out the gauge cluster with something aftermarket? If that picture is without flash and the section behind the numbers of the tach is lit up, it is aftermarket. All FR-S models and even the 86 have a white/silver painted section that is opaque; only the numbers light up.

It is entirely possible that the battery reset and attempt to swap wheels messed it up...

That pic looks like it was taken with the flash on, which is illuminating the white ring. Take another one at night without the flash.
