I had similar wear on the outside of the driver's side seat bolster of my BRZ and had it replaced at 31,000 miles. So long as a car is within the 3/36k warranty, it should be replaced with no hassle.

(Really I just stumbled over here to find out what an 860 was. :))

Sure but there are still extra parts available. The 860 is not the only ZN6 that has orange stitching
