Thanks for the info guys, was really getting worried. I emailed him at the other address, we'll see where it goes.
|
Getting things cleared up with him right now through email, with the usual quick responses. I'll post up the results...
|
He was temp banned for 1 month due to a violation of the vendor rules.
|
I never saw TITAN post the words "bump", "to the top" or any of the other things other vendors on this site do.
If he was banned for responding to customer questions, then someone obviously has a completely different axe to grind. |
"replied to your pm" as a post is the same thing as "bump" and he did so like crazy. The rest of the vendors are following the rules so he needs to as well.
He wasn't answering technical questions, just making replies to bump his threads without writing "bump" or "to the top". |
its an unfortunate casualty of the new rules, but necessary. Most of the vendors were waaaayyyy out of line here, Im glad extreme and swift measures were taken.
|
Too bad, glad I got my pully today.
Chris is a good guy Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2 |
He's not gone for good.

Wow, you think mods would warn first. I guess harsh punishment is ok as long as it is fair. I hope all the vendors with no price are getting banned.
The vendors with no price(or PM for deal) are 10x more annoying than a bump post. In fact I would like to see the rules to be extended to not allow "PM for deals". Seriously vendors, if you just post an honest price I am more likely to buy from you. I WILL NOT PM YOU FOR A PRICE. It just makes you seem like you are trying to screw people. Chris always had an up front price and was easy to deal with. |

The site owner talked with him directly about the rules, made sure he understood them, he said he did. Today he was allowed 3 bumps/replies in the classifieds, he made 15 in a VERY SHORT period. So, he understood the rules and one day later breaks them x5. So, he got temp banned. There was no reason to warn and the prior discussion served as a warning. Pricing is also required in threads now. Click here to see the current rules: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/announcement.php?f=45 If the vendors (and Titan was a major example of this) had been calm, created a single thread instead of a thread for every single part, and didn't post a ton of bumps (obvious ones or not) all day long those rules would have never been needed. I can't even tell you how many users complained about vendors doing this and it made the classifieds so cluttered I avoided going into them. Now hopefully they'll be easier to read and easier to find stuff in them, and with pricing required will save a lot of time for members. |
I agree the new rules are a good start, and that seems more than fair based on your description.
Keep fighting the good fight mods. I still hate "PM for deal" but know you can't really ban it. |

there were like 3 other vendors here who never replied PM when i was looking at coilovers..... |
Here's an idea, should we report vendors who do not respond to inquiries? Would the people who banned TITAN do anything about that?
Both of these were completely ignored: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...ter#post234411 http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...ter#post234409 The second one even had a one word "BUMP" post after mine but that was deleted after TITAN got banned. You can't just assume vendors are doing the right thing by the community and vendors are obviously not permitted to show that they are either. I'm sure others have similar stories to tell. |
