Not sure what the GT spoiler looks like or what the floor under cover is, but the rest seem like they are already offered for the 2017 model.

Currently the base 86 isn't available with leather/alarm/push button start/seat heaters.

You could never get those options with the base FRS either so this is a win for the USDM crowd.

And probably normal wheels.

Yep. I didn't think of them.

How much are these utterly essential items going to add to the cost?

Should expect Toyota to do a press release on the 2018 I would suspect? Nothing on their press site yet.

I see 4 different GT trims in my order catalog, but no details. I'm guessing that 2 of them are the GT listed above (AT & MT) and the other two will be the GT above with PP. The colors on the one GT trim are limited to white, sliver, red, and yellow, so PP seems certain, IMO.

pretty sure it is 2 trims for each trans options that totals the 4..don't think any sort of PP will make its way for the 86

Yea, that is what I said. I see 6 total and 4 listed as GT for the US market.

Base AT, all colors
Base MT, all colors
GT AT, all colors
GT MT, all colors
GT AT + something (probably PP), 4 colors only
GT MT + something (probably PP), 4 colors only

This sounds like the JDM "GT" with a few minor changes. The JDM model still has cloth unheated seats, and no spoiler, but adds powerfold mirrors.
The one I rented for a few days around Gunma and Tokyo also had a fully functioning G-meter as part of the display. It didn't have the microfiber interior panels the USDM model has.
There is still a higher rung in Japan called the GT-limited that adds the leather seats with heaters.
Both the GT and GT-Limited have the PP available so it will be interesting to see how they line up with the '18 US offerings.

Since the PP is always only available on the manual models, might the order book have more of a direct correlation with the JDM models, with the PP being considered an option rather than a standalone model, and the GT being the GT, while the GT + something being the GT-Limited?

Well these are Canadian models and the base id $29500 so we can count on at least $32000. What is the difference between the Two levels of BRZ in the US? That will probably be close.

Yep. For the US at any rate. We don't get the PP BRZ so probably not getting the PP 86 either.

The OP is for Canada there is no news for the US yet. I would guess that the US will simply get the base, GT and GT PP and not all the other levels the JDM has.
Canada already has a fully functioning G meter in those car so equipped.

I was really hoping Canada would get the PP this year...

Why? You already have a 2015 which looks better. It's not worth upgrading over ;)

interna 11-11-2017 11:06 AM

Only 4 Models listed for Canadian dealers. Auto Base/GT, Manual Base/GT.

A BRZ will always be lower in cost than the Toyota variant. About $1,500 less.

Neither Subaru Canada or Toyota Canada currently offer a optional PP. Only inclusive in the Inzuma edition BRZ.

A Special Edition 86 (Same specs as Sport Tech BRZ) and a Inzuma Edition BRZ (Sport Tech with PP) are the same MSRP...

I hope Toyota Canada clues into this because we did not sell alot of 2017 86's.

airjonny 11-11-2017 03:30 PM

Thank god! I'll take one with the PP in cop magnet red please.
