I personally think it's a pretty ugly wheel design and doesn't suit the twins very well, but that's subjective. Same as a lot of people's feelings towards RPF1, which I personally don't think is ugly per se, but definitely a bit on the "safe" side design-wise.

That said, I know the majority of people who buy either of these wheel designs are doing so for light weight and not much else (such as style).

Just my $0.02 (rounded up to $0.05 by the government).

For me weight/strength>style>price.

Its funny you say that. I HATED the RPF1s in the beginning, it seemed so bland and overused in the 86 world. Then I saw them available in their SBC colour. Saw the sizes/offsets they were available in and started looking for other options... Im still in awe with those Enkei RS05RRs though. Cant justify them (yet) for $2600 before tires when there are so many other similar looking reps.

Enkei aren't really the go to brand for wheels in that price point.

SLVRSRFR 11-01-2016 05:51 PM

Yeah if you're in that price range, may as well look at Advan, Work or Volk/Rays. Besides the RPF1, Enkei still seems to me like one of those "also ran" companies, like Fast, even though their quality is probably way better than Fast.

I honestly really like the wheels that fungus has up for sale...and the price is right for what they are. Gram Light 57Xtreme are another wheel style that is severely played out in the 86 world, so his are more unique.

For me, style trumps all, because my car is my DD and I'm not really planning on tracking it. I don't care how light a wheel is if it's ugly, and I tend to gravitate towards something that is unique, as I hate showing up to a meet and having the same wheels as 10 other cars (again this is subjective). Yes my wheels are reps, because I'm also balling on a budget. LOL. But they've held up pretty well strength-wise for reps.

Lol your old stock ones are holding up well for stock after being powercoated bronze... maybe it's the owner and not the wheels #mindblown

Fungus' set are definitely nice. Had i been interested, i would have thrown in an offer and then just powder coated.

I feel like wheels with more spokes fit the FRS/BRZ better. Maybe thats just me.

Tell yourself that when you're cleaning brake dust from between those many spokes. You can manage it nicely with a pressure washer except you will need to wear a rubber suit to stay dry.

THIS!!! I wanted 5 spoke for this reason but ended up with TSW nurburgring (however you spell it lol) and they are a little better to clean then stock as there is room to get your hand in there

btune 11-02-2016 02:41 PM

Lol true
Depends on the finish too...brake dust washes off SBC pretty easily :)
and stock pads are surprisingly not that bad with brake dust
