I did my car in 3M-1080 and the materials were ~$400.

Took me a day and a half.
Add the top & front hood for our cars and the materials should still be less than ~$800

That's pretty crazy! I think this stuff is just more expensive in general. Checking the Xpel site I see that the pre-cut kits for just the front end (fenders, bumper, hood) adds up to $1200 USD alone. I'll end up with some extra at the end at least.

I'm getting my wrap from 3m for $670 5ft by 100ft with friends/family discount. It all about picking the right color. I leaning more towards the matte white because of gf keep on saying that orange is too flashy lol. Don't get me wrong both color looks amazing in person if done on the right car.

Total cost would be about $700 with primer/edge sealer and tools.
Its gonna take me about one week to get both car done. The best car vinyl shop around me wants at least 3.5k depending on what brand wrap i go with and thats only for ONE car.

Well the answer seemed to be black and white with no grey area from everything I red about it but I almost blue it and went with another.

Black.

Because Black Jesus.

Mine gets wrapped in dirt often.

Material cost zero. Labor is free.

I hand wash it once a month, ready for new shade of dirt.

I vote for white!

In fact, I want to wrap my car white as well. Asked a shop and they are asking for $2,800... could've repainted the car for that price right?

How hard would you say wrapping the entire car is? Do you thing amateur like me with no experience can pull it off?

If you can get a whole car painted with a quality job for $2,800 I need to pay your area a visit!

Wrapping is one of those things that really isn't that hard but some people can do it really well and others are hopeless. I am a pretty handy guy but got about 20% through the wrap on a buddy's hood and walked away to watch and drink beer the rest of the job. I was horrid at it! You could try a small part and see how it goes but if you screw up a whole car it can be a fair bit of $$$$$ down the drain.
